Three playable allied races you would like to see?

It’s strange that people keep asking for ogres. If they were to make them, they’d end up looking a lot like the Kul Tiran model, which is constantly being mocked (for some reason. I think they look cool).

Likewise, it’s odd that there are so many requests for Naga, but simultaneously not for more elves. Naga are just sea elves. And they’re all astoundingly evil, because they sold their souls to their queen, the legion, and then one of the planet’s parasites.

As for me, my hopes for the race I wanted to play have disintegrated. I was hoping for playable furbolgs, but with Tortollan using the Pandaren rigging furbolgs aren’t ever going to happen. They’ll probably sit in low-level zones, forgotten, with low-resolution textures, until the end of time. I mean, they didn’t even update Tur Ragepaw for his appearance in the Emerald Nightmare raid of Legion; he’s there all pixelated and awful and the game even draws your attention to it by slapping an achievement on him.

So… I’ll trade you three allied races for one full race: Cursed Arakkoa. Their animation style is unique, their lore is tragic, and they’re in line to be Draenor refugees when Yrel’s crusade finds Azeroth.

Half-Elves are Half-Elf and Half-Human. Think Arator the Redeemer, in Honor Hold, in The Burning Crusade expansion, as well as in the Legion expansion. Half-Orcs, in most other games based upon AD&D, are Half-Orc and Half-Human, but you can argue that Half-Orcs can be Half-Orc and Half-Orge, which is what Rexxar is - Mok’nathal…

Looks wise Half -Elves are bring nothing new to the game model wise, unless Blizzard gives them a new model. I think WoW is moving a past AD&D races so Half- races can be a lot more wide range.

Personally I would like to see something different than just slight variation of what we have.

I don’t think I can limit to 3, how about 5 per faction?

Horde

  1. Vulpera
  2. Tortollan
  3. Arakkoa
  4. Hozen
  5. Saurok

Alliance

  1. Sethrak
  2. Jinyu
  3. Saberon
  4. Vrykul
  5. Mantid

Just my little christmas list. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alliance
High Elves
Half Elves
Wild Hammer Dwarves

Horde
Ogres (caveat is that this is a fantasy game and there is zero need for there to be a female model. )
Mok’nathal
San’layn or Undead Blood Elves (i.e. Dark Rangers)

For Alliance:

  1. Half-Elves - Using a modfied model like Talendrion’s https://image.ibb.co/j14Ygx/Talendrion-night-elf-edit.png to carry on the legacy of the Quel’Dorei.

  2. Children of Cenarius - Imagine a race similar to the Dryads and Keepers of the Grove that have only two legs. Essentially they’d look sort of like what a Night Elf might look like with antlers and Draenei legs and hooves.

  3. Attractive Humans - Somewhere on Azeroth has to be a strain of humanity where the males aren’t steroid junkies and/or have beer guts, and don’t have faces looking 40-50+ years old.

For Horde:

  1. Mok’Nathal - To appease the calls for Ogres and they make a decent match up for Half-Elves being a hybrid race

  2. San’Layn - Undead elves basically.

  3. Vulpera - Quite likely going to happen and super cute.

My top three are Tuskarr, Vulpera, and Tortollan. Runners up are Ethereals, Eredar, Jinyu, and High Elves (I know, never gonna happen).

Dryad - OMG OMG OMG

Val’kyr - I know there are not too many in lore, but maybe that can be adjusted with fresh story-lines.

Scourge - Separate to the forsaken, with skin variations like abominations/skellies/liches/ghouls/banshees … an unaligned & amoral faction.

Vrykul - Need we say more? Salt of the earth!
