As someone who plays both factions, both Alliance and Horde have their fair share of toxic players tbh.
When I started I mained Alliance and the sentiment was that Horde was the chill/adult faction because all the kids wanted to be NE versions of Legolas.
I certainly feel now as the game has aged there has been a shift to Horde being the âtry-hardâ faction to mirror the trend of top-rated guilds. Though everyoneâs anecdotal experience will vary with the climate of each server. Itâs less so on an RP server though we have our own share of elitism.
Also a player of both factions and have been playing both since TBC. One thing that I experienced in that regard was that server was always pretty important when it came to toxicity, regardless of faction. I have played on most RP and RPPvP servers so it might be different on the non-RP realms, but toxic/rude behavior wasnât ever faction specific in my experience.
My longest break was because of how disgusted I was at how guildies treated randoms in LFD, and that was on Alliance, and I wont even get into the culture of Moon Guard. BUT, Iâve also experienced a lot of random groups and PUGs absolutely fall apart Hordeside as well just because people would rather insult others instead of explain mechanics, and being in a losing BG as Horde is so bad itâs hilarious.
Since Horde has a much greater population, it probably is just more noticeable to you OP. A larger population means a larger chance of running into bad experiences.
Itâs completely anecdotal because people are people.
There is a grain of truth to the idea that you have more of a chance of meeting toxic Horde players just because itâs both a numbers game (there are more of them) and that Horde has become the âContent Factionâ. People with a bad attitude who expect everyone to one shot everything have always gone to whichever faction was âThe Metaâ at the time.
I donât think Alliance is more or less toxic than the Horde. I think it depends on the realm tbh. The Horde on my server are very cool, as are the Alliance on my other server, Moon Guard. Iâve never had many issues. But Iâve met toxic players on both factions in instanced content from other servers.
You would be a traitor.
â Mooooo!
Considering the fact that your race leader over this entire expansion and last expansion performed what would be considered by The Horde traitoris actions to numerous to name?
You are the last person who should be giving anyone advice on what is or not a traitor. Tauren really do not have much room to talk. We need to just hand you an alliance flag at this point
Yeah I called you out on it
The toxicity is not derived from one faction or another, but the individual itself, and horde has more than alliance.
I was in a horde guild that was LGBTQ+ and had rules to be inclusive and nice to all. I was an officer of said guild. One night we were doing a raid with like 5-6 of us, rest pugs, and the new officer in training, a trans woman, was leading the raid. She started yelling and throwing out homophobic slurs at the pugs, a guildie /gquit and I talked with that guildie. After talking with them for 10 minutes, I let the Guild Master know, and provided a screenshot of last slur. Was told I had a problem with communication. Trans person gets promoted to officer, I get left guildless.
I get that but I was speaking in terms on general vibes. Anyway this thread has served its purpose. I have updated my OP one whats MOST LIKELY causing what I am experiencing. Its my playtime and the Oceanic Realms. It seems I have my answer
It is a thing because nobody plays Alliance, so of course itâs going to seem nicer because there are only 5 people there.
Alliance spend 90% of their game-time sitting in Goldshire talking about the weather.
They have nothing to be toxic over.
Ok but seriously. The last time I played Alliance âseriouslyâ (iâve always mained Horde) was back in MoP. Horde LFR was always a decent experience. Alliance LFR took forever and was filled with apes. The quality of players was night and day.
So I guess I am doubling back to my original joke, Alliance have less to be toxic towards, because their standards are lower.
Shreads you always pop up in my threads lol
It has been a long time since I actively played Horde for other than leveling a character for story⌠That said when I was Horde in Cata/MoP i was in a much more competitive guild that has more posterior fedora personalities than ally. Now could it have been the server I was on⌠maybe⌠as server culture was still kind of a thing back then.
Less toxic?
If I had to guess itâs because theyâre more casual/less competitive as shown by raider io front page, Mythic raid âHall of Fameâ, PvP rankings page, etc etc
Its funny because I did the other way around was a horde player from Area 52 and faction changed to Stormrage.
Something happen that dayâŚ
I was doing the Calia quest on horde and I did not had flying in shadowlands yet (I know right⌠anyway) I was siting there and decided to ask on Maldraxxus general chat if a player would give me a ride doing the quest.
Horde side (Area 52) nothing happenedâŚ
Ally side (Stormrage), I dont know if it was lucky, I got a druid player that was not even doing the quest, was just farming herbs and saw my request, that person did the entire Maldraxxus part of that quest with me.
So yeah IDK if it was bad and good lucky but while on horde I got zero interactions on Stormrage I got the druid and a few other whispers offering to help.
Roll on Wyrmrest Accord and bring your hubby. The Horde here is awesome, and if theyâre mean to you, Iâll berate them in Trade Chat using colorful profanity.
Stomrrage is a great server. I have seen this a lot there and done it myself.
Honestly, I think it has less to do with the Horde being âtoxicâ and just the fact that youâre on Area 52.
I hate to make generalizations but for as long as I can remember I have known A-52 to be a toxic server.
I think you missed the update in my op my man. Your server is dead during my playtime 90% of the wow non Oceanic servers are
I would be lying if I said that didnât surprise me, but I guess it shouldnât. I havenât logged in much either these past couple of months.
Iâve been enjoying Hades and Vampire: The Masquerade - Night Road on Steam. So much fun.
Hopefully, the servers recover their population as DF nears. I wish I wanted to play WoW more.
