I’m on the WOW Classic Anniversary realm Dreamscythe. I was going to make my way to Thousand Needles for a Warlock quest, only to find the elevators for the Great Lift are not there. Is this a bug, or can Alliance not use them? I remember being able to use them back when I first started playing back in 2006.
There should be elevators all the way south in the barrens on the border between the two zones at the end of the path. The only other set of elevators over there is the ones that go up to freewind post.
Are you looking in the right spot? If they’re not there then something is wrong.

It doesn’t allow me to post a screenshot. It is the Great Elevator in southern Barrens. The two elevators are not there at all. When I played Classic in 2019 they were there. Is this a bug, or were there no elevators in early Vanilla WOW?
There’s always elevators. Take a video and post on youtube

Are you physically close enough for them to load? I thought the same thing because i was waiting for them to load from a bit of a distance away… I was trying to avoid aggroing NPCs.
You won’t be able to actually see them until you physically get onto one of the wooden platforms. They have a surprisingly small visual loading range.
I bet this is your issue.

Embarrassingly enough this was the issue. It was a phasing problem, where you don’t see it from a distance. I pretty much wasted a half hour looking stuff up only to find I wasn’t close enough, because I didn’t want to guard on me since loads of horde were around.
