EDIT: I understand that temporary summons exist, the intent of the post was to bring the idea of a pet that is controllable and has a health bar and goes on CD after it is killed. The sprite I’m referring to in the other game is similar to a Warlock pet summon, you can control where it goes/set it to follow you. It pulses every few seconds.
Im new to WoW and started this season and besides Presvoker(which sadly isn’t performing the best rn…) I haven’t found a spec that I’ve fell IN LOVE with. I used to play another MMORPG with one healing spec offering a sprite that passively healed over time. You could have it follow you or position it somewhere else to heal other players who may have been far apart.
This made me enjoy the class quite a bit! The passive healing wasn’t insane, but still kept certain people topped off until you reached them. I wish Blizzard would add some mechanic to an existing spec right now, maybe like HPriest/Mistweaver, because of their totems they can place, but instead of a totem, it could be a summoned pet.
If you know which class/game Im referring to and have a recommendation of a spec that’s similar to it, pls let me know!(Not too sure if forums are strict on mentioning games that are in competition with it)
Holy priest, discipline priests, mistweaver monks, resto shamans, and resto druids summon non-them creatures/objects to heal others passively. They are respectively, shadowfiend/naaru thing, shadowfiend, jade serpent, healing totems, treants
The treants (resto druid - grove guardians) I think are the most impactful of these, particularly with keeper of the grove hero tree
A lot of the time, actually. You have three Power Word spells that summons a Naaru. One of them Chastise, but I forgot the other two. One of them is a super strong ST healing spell, the other is AoE
I would like the option to trade the temp summon treants for a permananet one on resto.
Replace nourish as the other choice node, let the upgrade give it wildgrowth as a cooldown on the pet bar to replace the one on summons, and maybe like a mini iron bark or rejuv it can put on people to comp the heal % stacks youd loose from keeper by only having 1.
Change blossoms to trigger every 20 seconds while its out so keeper still maintains some value with it. Would serve the same single target high value to mana playstyle nourish is suppose to have without being completely useless cause regrowth does nourishes job better.
Then give it some glyphs to be the other common nature friends (fae drakes, whisps, dryads, ext.)
That whole ally of nature thing feels pretty one sided as druid, im constantly helping them but they never seem to return the favor outside a couple trees every so often.
Edit- The reason we dont have a permanent healer pet is probably because of mana. Unless you paid a constant upkeep for it having an infinite, even if low, source of healing would probably be hard to balance, the only one in game i think is ysera’s gift and its a self heal first and foremost.
The ones that do direct healing now are temporary with a mana value, spawn from other mana spending spells, or are on a decent cooldown and dont do healing without other support talents or gameplay(shadowfiend)
Sounds like a one trick pony. Sounds like a long range healing totem from a Shaman (if they had such things, dunno if they do), or that monk Taunt Bot thing. What else did it do?
