Well at least we have confirmation that people who don’t play the game like the idea.
I think most players enjoy the sense of accomplishment from working their way up, rather than having it handed to them. I want to believe this is still true. Maybe I’m old (61 years young!) and nostalgic for different generations. Maybe I’m wrong and most players just want instant rewards with no challenge so they can skip to complaining about nothing to do. Who wants to bother playing game and earning your rewards when you could be here complaining in forums?
Spending IRL cash for power ruins most any game.
They did have a MUCH superior bad-luck protection in BFA where you earned Titan Residuum currency from you weekly loot box, in addition to the 1 random piece of gear (which was never a weapon back then). Titan Residuum could the be accumulated over weeks to purchase a random piece of gear for a specific slot (e.g., random shoulder) or over months to purchase a specific piece of gear (e.g, Sacbrood trinket in today’s sought-after gear). That NPC vendor did not offer weapons for Titan Residuum but every other slot could be purchased (as best I recall).
They really should bring back something like that to make bad luck protection actually effective because the RNG on RNG of the Great Vault is not any true protection at all, it’s just a roulette wheel of gear that may or (more likely) may not be useful. Saving up in-game currency (that can’t be purchased from the cash shop) and being able to spend that on a specific slot or a specific gear item is true bad luck protection.
I don’t know about anyone else but I have had zero issues doing open world content with Champion 8/8 on a subpar class. I’m at 622 currently and it’s becoming overkill, even for the Mythic +8 range.
It’s ok to have prestige items in the game. Especially when said gear goes ever further beyond making the content you play feel comfortable.
This only applies to solo players… those that group up (kind of expected in an MMO) for Raid or M+ absolutely care about your gear and your experience in the content you’re applying for (or trying to lead). To say otherwise is simply applying the solo player concerns (or lack thereof) to the entire player base which is a disservice at best and intentional trolling at worst.
Dying to one-shot mechanics in 639 gear is still 0 DPS/HPS… max-level BIS gear does not solve a complete lack of understanding of how to play your class and recognize & respond to game mechanics.
I think this is a great idea, but I can’t help thinking it’s intentional on Blizzard’s part to “encourage” cross-pillar play (the managers at work would rotate the better engineers through different projects across organizations as “cross-pollination” hoping to get a more experienced engineer with a wider department viewpoint in return for shoving them into projects they didn’t particularly want to work on).
Tfw your guild leaves you behind in prog. I’m only 620 bro this isn’t fair.
I can explain
They say +8 and beyond is where the chill parties exists. Naw. Homies get carried to that too. Just did one today with the most not-meta party ever. My hands hurt from how hard I clutch healed. Made me quit for the day.
I mean uh… Put mythic gear on the store! Definitely won’t cause any problems!
I like mythic plus. I wish there was better ramp up from heroic to mythic 0 tho. Just a level or two. It would allow for a better transition into mythic. Also let there be stronger rewards for 2500 rating. A tiny glow on my Paladin wing that was broken because I had it before I even got to the rating for some reason… wasn’t exactly exciting. Make it equally nice on all classes.
Thats fair, I cant disagree with your points because I feel similar especially as an oldschool mmorpger. But what they did with PvP by making conquest point gear easily accessible in a few weeks shows us that gear isnt everything. Rewards can be titles, mounts, appearances and people will still feel a sense of accomplishment and strive to compete to the the top.
I was only joking.
I’m 100% glad you are cranking out your goals despite all of the hindrances this season.
and that list just keeps on rolling.
Who needs that stuff? All it does is stand in the way of me being right.
LOL, I always get a giggle out of most responses. It’s like some folks around here are allergic to facts or reason.
I don’t care about the rewards. I want an experience that is less about setting up big pulls and AoE and more about careful pulling of mobs and mobs that have multiple mechanics.
If people insist on there being trash at all I’d like the trash to be more than a damage sponge with one spell to kick. How about a few mechanics per trash to keep it interesting? Mana burns and silences among other things and spell reflection.
When i started doing m+ thats what it felt like but now that ive memorized a few runs it becomes a repetitive daily quest. I think waht you are looking for is pvp lol, it has unique mechanics/plays (human reactions) as opposed to preprogrammed abilities/movements (npc).
It was 8s for a while but now I think it’s moved to 10s, and may morph with new changes. The reason for move to 10s was that 10s became pretty easy for players at 630+, so why not farm crests and vault at same time. If I’m already planning to do enough 10s to fill vault, I don’t need separate 8s. In my experience, players have been mostly chill and pleasant in 10s past couple of weeks.
I don’t think we know how community will react to newest changes. Puggers have been coalesced around break points, but those will be smoother going forward.
Not even 10s are safe anymore.
