Those of you who PvE to PvP

#tbt to when i legit got every piece of exodia in my hand against my friend in junior high during lunch and the whole table lost their minds

Wait. You guys are saying PvE gear as a gateway to even casual PvP is a bad thing?

Exodia… OBLITERATE!

It’s not just the APM that makes stategy games so difficult, it’s micro managing units, making quick groups, individually moving them around the map. All while continuing to farm resources and respond to what your enemy is building.

Takes a lot more foresight, map control, and planning then just spamming a tower to heaven like fortnite.

I take it you havent watched anyone good at fortnite play the game?

Skill in shooters isn’t quite the same as skill in an rts the same way a professional athlete isn’t the same as a professional chess player. One is more mechanically focused and intense in short bursts, the other is a long slow burn that requires more thought and planning than a raw mechanical skill like aim. It’s why so many pro rts players also play a lot of chess.

Yeah why are we talking video games holy fk lets talk chess. Im tryna be on some Magnus Carlsen sht.

So by your logic is anything that gives an advantage makes you bad and you should stop playing. So by that logic weak auras that track spells to interrupt, cd trackers ect should also be apart of said stable and if you have these then you should stop playing the game

By this logic: you’re either trolling, not paying attention, or naive

PvE gearing and (now) corruptions set a gateway that is unhealthy and unfun for PvP. Power gaps are fine when they’re capped at 10-15% – NOT when they’re 200-400%

Im not saying it isnt creating a large power scaling issue. But you are attacking something in the wrong way is the point im making threw heavy sarcasm. The idea that pve gear is affecting pvp has been around since vanilla the best trinkets, rings, set peices have all been from pve content. What you want to argue is to disable features of gear for example legos back in legion. Then you would have a better leg to stand on

That and reducing power disparity (given by item level/power) when in instanced pvp. Disable corruptions and scale the power curve in instanced pvp

Its not really viable to scale the power curve as legion showed us. But if you are looking for straight competitive pvp they have tournament realms for that.

Get corrupted gear and pve trinkets and actually kill things or hit like a wet noodle and watch Destro locks 2 shot. Hmm

On a more serious note, pve trinkets hitting over 100k in arena and corrupted gear going as high as 30% of people’s damage make it impossible to not need it in order to compete. Even the best players are having a hard time not finding themselves inside mythic plus or raiding at the moment. It’s currently the difference between a dampening game or one shotting.

Bfa is over, no more changes are coming, and the only possible solution is an extreme nerf to all these affects in pvp and a buff to damage across the board to everyone’s personal kits. But that just keeps out pve gear and doesn’t address the real issue which is class balance and class design

Can’t watch that game for longer then 60 seconds without wanting to spoon my own eyes out. The graphics suck and so do the skins. It just lives and breaths like it was invented for 10 year olds.

WoW / League are the most cartoonized games that I play, and to be honest the overly cartoon aspect is one of the biggest reasons why I don’t enjoy playing overwatch. I want people to bleed when I play a shooter. Like doom, soldier of fortune, or unreal tournament.
