I think Sarestha, being at least sort of an ideological Paladin, is content to have faith in her ethos. The ideals of the Church of the Holy Light, the Three Virtues. These are worth fighting for no matter what.
But I do entirely agree. Paladin lore has been severely impacted lately. Even adding in things like Zandalari Prelates… it’s watered down what Paladins are, to some extent. They’re creatures of duty now. Devotion alone gives them strength. Which is sad in a way, because it can be devotion to anything. It’s not even the Light now, it can be the loa that give them the certainty to draw upon the Light.
So I hope one of my favourite lore classes don’t end up being entirely characterised by being lawful. We’re more than shiny cops damn it!
