Thistle Tea changes feel like an obvious choice node

I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t been playing rogue this expac since I didn’t love DF Sin but these changes are so close to getting me back and hyped.

The Thistle Tea proposed change however sounds really polarizing and I feel like Blizz has already established patterns on how we could make everybody in the community happy.

A lot of minmaxxers are justifiably upset at the idea of charges being automatically consumed and I can already envision frustrations in M+ where you gotta somewhat burst a priority mob right before a boss but didn’t wanna blow CDs and oops you used some of your Thistle Tea charges. HOWEVER, I think these changes are also absolutely incredible for making the spec more accessible for casuals and returning players.

So… what do we do? Well, Blizzard has already seemingly solved this with polarizing changes. Two that come to mind are Shadow Crash for Shadow and Earthquake for Ele, a lot of people don’t like the targeting circle but minmaxxers are always gonna want the control. They made both a choice node, so you can choose your preferred functionality.

I think if Thistle Tea was simply a choice node between how it works now and the new auto consumption charges, it would be the perfect sweetspot where if you wanted to play a bit more casually you could benefit from it and the people who wanna be minmaxxing aren’t frustrated/feeling penalized.

I’m sure there’s other solutions too, but this one feels like it’d be easy to implement and both sides of the community would be happy. Just wanted to share some thoughts and see if people agree.

Let min maxers have thistle tea the old fashion way. Then let the rest of us have a life without having to constantly drink thistle tea to live.

Do you have any idea how many times a day I have to tinkle! Do you have any idea how many spiders I have killed with my giant thistle tea Stanley cup!

Yeah, but that’s the logical decision to make and this is Blizzard we’re dealing with.
