You know, I think most people here could admit they have contributed to the toxicity, me included. You are completely right. It’s up to us to dictate the type of community that we want to bring into Classic. We can celebrate Classic without hating on retail, streamers and beta invites.

I totally agree with everything you say. Maybe we all just need to take a step back and be more positive.

What’s to discuss? The game’s 15 years old. It’s probably the biggest case of “been there, done that” imaginable.

Envy is what it is alright. The same people would probably lash out at post-Vanilla players, or players who have stayed subbed through bad expansions, or players who haven’t played since Cata but resubbed for Classic.

I think that’s worth making a big fuss about. It’s a pretty awful feature that MUST be removed. The sooner the better.

You forgot the less common, but fairly consistent on it’s own, complaints about Vanilla as a concept in some fashion. Whether it’s arguments that it’ll fail and isn’t worth doing (like that matters at this point), that it’ll take too much away from modern (oOoOoOoh), or that it’ll influence modern because Blizzard is blind and will kneejerk in response to “gold rush popularity”.

You know, the ones that are ultimately angry or afraid and have nothing better to do than attack Classic in some fashiong because they don’t know what else to do.

Always good for a lark.

I’m hoping we get a guild recruitment sub forum soon. This forum is getting very busy (for better or worse) the recruitment threads are taking heavy casualties.

That’s true about class content for Vanilla. Most people don’t need to discuss it here, because they’re talking in their Class specific Discords. The Classic forum is primarily used for discussing the issues that aren’t 15 years old.

i.e. Streamers, Layering and who gets the beta.

I’d rather see Blizzard create a Classic subform for classes, pvp, guild recruitment, realms(once launched), rp, etc. Classic is a new game. Trying to box all its players into one discussion forum is a poor choice.
