Earthen borrows a lot from dwarven assets and art direction.
Arathi borrow a lot from human assets and art direction.
Nerubian have been getting a lot of the same assets with color swaps since wrath
Undermine was a lot of assets from cata forward.

I do, I still haven’t finished From Beyond The Veil and I went through the entirety of SL from prepatch to DF launch. Let’s be honest, Bastion gave everyone PTSD, and optic trauma. The irony.

Boring? Yes.
Bad? Not even close.

Shadowlands single-handedly destroyed decades of Warcraft lore. There is WoW before Shadowlands and then there’s WoW after Shadowlands.

Even WoD and BfA, despite all of their sins, still respected the source material enough to keep things canonically sane and within boundaries.

I agree with the first part of your statement. However, despite the randomness of the content in this expansion, it has been extremely solo friendly and the first time in a long time I have taken 12 characters to level cap and gotten them all mostly geared. Anyone who hates on this expansion pretty much just hates the game and should unsubscribe and uninstall.

I would immediately dismiss the opinion of anyone who implied Shadowlands is better than TWW because it was worse than TWW.

Honestly, I do feel like DF and TWW have been lacking “something”. My experience so far has been: “do 8 keys in the first 2 days of the week > wait for vault” rinse and repeat, I don’t really feel compelled to play any more than that.

Nah.

The War Within isn’t grand, sure — But it’s far better than Shadowlands in terms of story at least … Like … LEAGUES better. :joy:

Personally I’d say that there’s:

  • Good retcons
  • and BAD retcons …

– along with the occasional midway or mix of the both.
What the expansion in question is retconning and HOW, dictates such.

Naturally, there’s going to be handfuls that are enjoyed by the major consensus and others which are detested by the major consensus — and those where it’s not really all too troublesome but you simply shrug & see where it goes. lol

I personally enjoyed Shadowlands S3 and S4. I did not enjoy the first two seasons near as much.
I would put TWW probably slightly below the S3/4 of SL but well above the first two seasons as a whole.

So… you didn’t play shadowlands? There is no comparison between the two expansions, TWW ain’t great but SL was genuinely awful.
