So all existing classic realms will have a portion of their populations moving to classic indefinite.
Based on the total amount of players, Blizzard can open new servers to meet that demand. Thatās how Iād see it done better than using CRZ. And it wouldnāt be connected realms in the sense that new realms would be made.
Iām fine with connected WoW Classic realms as described above, even though I was not happy when my retail realm was merged because it totally killed the small community that server had. Something like a merge (realm connection) probably has to happen for āClassic Eraā though, at least at some point because of population.
CRZ the only one who it benefits is Blizzard for not having to have as much infrastructure. There is zero benefit to the players, it just kills the community aspect that WoW Classic needs to have IMO.
Also editing to say that I know my reaction to CRZ is pretty strong. I just really think itās one of the nails in the coffin for the WoW I used to love turning into something that was like a chore and no longer fun for me. if the population is really that small itās probably ok, but if it means things like never encountering the same person again when leveling for example, or never seeing them in the world again, I see it as a bad thing.
If I lose my names, I am gone. This happened at SWTOR once and I never played that game again.
My chars are all connected, having to find a new name especially if most are taken, is a no go.
CRZ is a no go as well. It will make it impossible for a casual to get things done like hunting items of rares, mining or picking flowers.
Ever tried to do the Arena quest on CRZ? Say hello to outsiders from other realms being babysitted by level 60s. Good luck ever getting a shot on one of the world bosses, or extremely rare items.
Blizzard should keep things as they are, no need to change anything except for QoL like dual spec or fixing the terrain exploits at BGs.
They have an opportunity to start āfreshā by using the surveys foreshadowed Classic+ servers as their guinea pigs and finally putting an end to the god awful retail game.
Unfortunately, as the consensus goes, no one trusts current blizz to touch Classic.
Iām going to go on a limb and hope for the best. If they do turn it into Classic+. Who knows they may introduce new gear and a raid re-tune and a dungeon re-tune.
Honestly, even difficulty modes i wouldnāt be against.
Adding seasons as well.
At the end of the day for me, itās about the community and longevity of Classic.
Nochanges or bust. They said they were fine with empty servers, but constantly try to put in some stupid crz version with different names like connected serverrs, etcā¦ Really annoyed.
Merge few dead servers if you must, but donāt do any of that crap in survey.
