This is the worst expansion in years for non-dungeon/raid players

Yeah I am not doing the mission table (yet, if ever) in SL so some of my comments may be faulty in regard to SL. I’ve just read that missions are impossible for some people because of covenant stuff? Don’t know if that is true.

I still think followers could follow us from expac to expac. If they are our followers, they should follow us . . .at least some of them.

I don’t think we really disagree in that more creativity could be applied to the feature. I’m glad you told me there are mats quests because that makes me more apt to at least check it out. I got so bored of it all in BfA.

wrong

u can literally afk bgs and be full purps

throw in some arena and ur gear is very good

running heroics in wrath was super easy and you could buy previous tier gear…

that seems really casual oriented…?

Its pretty sad logging in to do dailies and seeing gray junk as a reward or severely outdated gear. I don’t understand why anyone at Blizzard would think this is okay.

you had to do content to achieve an ilvl sufficient to unlock those rewards. By heroic dungeon ilvl SL wq’s were already 20ilvls behind, and thats with the renown 10 wq ilvl boost. It is possible to surpass SL wq ilvls within a day or 2. Dead content from the outset. And im going to be raiding and running m+ so its not like im looking for the easier gear mode. Just stating what the wq’s are really like this time round

If your not doing dungeons/raids/arena then you do not need the gear.

To me, Shadowlands had the potential to be good but as we continue forward there is a lot of holes in the boat:

  1. The Callings in replacement of WQs was fine in theory, but it doesnt replace the hole lost for gearing. Outside of an occasional conduit, it just feels like all-gold emissaries.

  2. The gear ilvl for WQs is just pathetically low to even be useful for gearing to M0s or LFR. They shouldnt be normal tier raid gear at the moment, but they should be atleast an alternative to get gear. 180 ilvl wouldnt be a hard justification; especially with WQs being longer.

  3. Professions are still not fantastic, and without Archeology this expansion it does leave a hole for max level content outside of M+ and Raids.

  4. Torghast not offering anything outside of the weekly soul ash, kills any reason to run it outside of just capping/legendary work. Twisting Corridors should have been opened by now to offer something akin to IEs for cosmetic grind/mount work.

  5. Soulbinds are still a pretty pointless and only serve to add additional complexity to classes to help balance around temporary power. The conduit system itself is not really interesting and is very generic in-terms of increases of power (its just number crunching).

  6. Theres absolutely no reason why old content is tuned the way it is, along with certain bosses being impossible to solo in their current state as legacy content.

Well OP, I am not disappointed in the expansion. I am enjoying it quite nicely.

8 M+ completed in the last 2 days. 1 piece of loot I couldn’t use. Oh and 11 raid bosses down for 1 piece of loot I couldn’t use so far this week. Seems to be working as intended to me. Even the great vault has been less then generous since the two that I have opened have resulted in items that I will replace as soon as possible.

Oh I forgot. People have told me they get gear from callings. Think the whole expansion of doing callings every day I have seen 2 conduits and exactly zero loot.

Are there people that really only play the game to do WQ’s and Callings?

PVP has been providing me with plenty of gear, so I hope they dont change that.

Heh, I didn’t even touch Heroic dungeons till WoD, of course, I didn’t have a character to do high content till then.

However, I have always found the instanced content of WoW to be one of the better aspects of the game, when compared to others. City of Heroes swing the pendulum between random and forumulaic, and SWtOR just never really offered much early on in those areas. EQ was too open (not really as instanced) and DAoC was always more focused on PvP. Guild Wars was TOO instanced while having too meager a story to work with, feeling like Diablo with less story than 3’s.

I do good dps in the naxx raid with my rogue

Yeah no it’s not lol. Warlords was worse!

Yea shadowlands worst expac for me too. Can’t wait for tbc though
