This is the worst expansion in years for non-dungeon/raid players

Amusingly we had those a long time ago before all the stratification of content. To that end blizzard didnt really like the idea that you could know when you would get upgrades and catch up mechnics. Though, they just replaced Badges with the various currencies the game now offers, just no loot with them.

World of Warcraft

You really don’t have room to talk about World questing, take off your gear and put on WQ gear only. Go quest in that gear for a month then come back with an opinion.

When LFR was introduced Blizz said it was because the vast majority of their time was spent designing raids that only like 10% of the playerbase ever even stepped into. Dungeon finder, LFR, Scenarios, WoD’s Challange modes and Mythic Dungeons, Island Expeditions have all been designed at an attempt to force players into doing more group content because the elephant in the room is that WoW is and has been a single player game for the majority of it’s players and maybe instead of trying to find new ways to entice (i. e. force) the playerbase into group content they should just embrace it and add more stuff for single players to do. Torghast is a really good start but it needs a gear reward even it its only 1 piece a week.

you are correct time vs content difficulty rewards should differ greatly
I am happy raiding normal and heroic its what I do its pretty much all I do, but I want that spider mount really bad so you know what I am doing to get it, yeah some pvp
but I also want to keep players interested in staying if that means they have their own gearing path for obtaining that gear I am all for it, if the gear is locked behind quest chains even better the time vs risk metric at play. I have never said it should be better then harder content, I have suggested it should only be blue
if you asking me to put a mystic number on what that value should be, that is not for mw to decide that is something Blizz needs to do. every player needs a carrot

those players work the AH supplying raw mats crafted items for those of us that have little to no time or incentive to do it for our selves they keep the economy turning

I’m not one who wants to avoid dungeons and raids. I will admit I got lucky to have a friend willing to bring me in to his Mythic dungeon runs, but when not doing that, I’m at least willing to run Heroics.

As it is, my current Guardian weapon I think is either a WQ drop or table drop, and I ran her with an iLevel 131 AGI staff for a couple weeks.

And back in 8.3, I would often use WQ to gear up, because it was available and more reliable than a dungeon run, but even that was behind if you didn’t keep at it, or the “drop” rate was poor.

But if you’re not interested in doing the dungeons or the raids, then you don’t need all that gear, as the world content is more than sufficient to provide what is needed to handle it.

The problem isn’t the gear, it’s the content to keep the player going.

I have a DK that I ran up to 60 first, and then switched to this character pretty much as soon as I chose his covenant. His only green piece at present is his neck. Everything else was present world content and Normal Dungeon runs. I just barely got him that 180 sword, but I’ve left him largely alone for the rest of that time. He’s also only done the dungeons which a storyline link to them, even missing Plaguefall’s quest for it as well.

So getting blues once you are 60 isn’t the problem. It’s getting good blues and purples that match what you’re used to getting in 8.3 which is your problem.

we are talking about people that don’t do instanced content at all, pvp or dungeons or raids for what ever reason they don’t do it.
what “they” are asking for is an alternative gearing system for them, as you have no doubt read my comments in this thread the one you are posting in
I have stated I really like the covenant gear that has been locked behind quest chains, and I feel that there should be more of this type of content, content that is not instanced, meaning raids dungeons or pvp,
because of the changes to world quests in this xpac, are you kind of keeping now

let me put it back to you justify why they shouldn’t have content aimed at them that has higher time metric to achieve, but obtainable by doing the content they do

Why do you think they don’t? Sure it’s not as extensive as it was in 8.3, but then, 8.0 wasn’t that extensive, either, nor was 7.0.

But all you’re talking about is gear, gear that is available to everyone anyway.

MOST of the actual content in World of Warcraft never happens in a group-required instance. In fact, there is more post-max content in 9.0 than there was in 8.0. I feel like I’ve made more progress in the storyline at this point than a month after BfA’s launch.

In fact, it’s easier to catch up now because it’s now based on Renown instead of just time-locking the quest line. A fresh 60 can be almost caught up in Renown at the end of the week (if not completely caught up) where as before, if they hit 60 this week, they would need to wait for the next weekly reset to do the next stage of significant content.

I know its difficult to follow
we are talking about a line of content aimed at people NOT doing instanced content, achievable by them not having to do said instanced content, instead your only witty retort is to keep bring up instanced content

Shadowlands has brought WoW back to its roots more than any expac since Cata.

Talk about a left handed compliment.

So if you’re not a dungeon and raid focused player, then you must be a PvP oriented player right? Oh you don’t PvP also? What the hell have you been doing this past decade?

Sounds like a l2p issue

Probably living his life like a normal peraon while you basement dwell…

Mythic raiders are happy. Your casual player is quickly headed for the door. Today is my last day. My sub ends today, and I won’t be renewing. I’m a casual and Shadowlands offers next to nothing for me except stultifying chores.

Yes, but it’s a game that from conception has always been built on group-based dungeons and raids as its end-game.

Don’t leave out half the story because it doesn’t fit your narritive. It isn’t a solo-game just because there are solo-activities, and it absolutely shouldn’t change to be one. There are hundreds of single player RPGs that offer what you’re looking for.

“We’ve always done it this way” is more a tragic explanation than it is an excuse.

In general I never felt that there was a problem with the amount of gear in BFA considering as a Raider it was never meant for me because mine always rested inside the next raid.

Don’t get me wrong BFA’s gear did have its flaws, but it coming from Emissary or WQ’s, Bought from Rep vendors who really cares. Its someone elses content so let em have it.

If we’re not going to leave out half the story here then we should talk about how dungeons weren’t endgame that offered high end gear on par with raiding until Legion, but that changed because the developers changed their design philosophy on getting high end gear.

People used to say that “dungeons don’t deserve the best gear. You should have to raid. That’s how it always worked in this game” about dungeons offering that kind of gear.

and then in BfA you also had solo content that offered high end gear in Horrific Visions.

Also I didn’t say I wanted WoW to be a solo game, but more options for gearing isn’t a bad thing so long as they take some steps to make it not end up being mandatory for faster gearing.
