This is pathetic, and you should know it

Assuming its still available when we get there.

You may not value time spent as much as we do and that is fine. Losing a week is bigger deal to us.

Once again, moving is not an option for us.

I chose Herod just two days before launch, having already seen the warning from Blizzard to stay away from it. That was my exact reasoning. It was actually kind of tragic in Vanilla when a smaller server died, leaving people with so much time invested in their characters and nobody to play with. That was the reasoning behind all the modern cross server features. Unfortunately something really important got lost along the way to solving that problem.

I know it… Things became so impersonal and you never had the chance to get to know people in the server in later patches as you would rarely see the same name twice.

Nothing is cooler then getting into a dungeon or raid group and seeing some familiar faces both of those you like and others you might consider rivals. Created a real sense of community.

I am already seeing signs of community in classic. People are real chill and more willing to help each other out.

This, right here, is the root cause of your problem. Blizzard said over and over that Herod was one of the severely over-populated realms, that massive queue times should be expected and strongly suggested going to another realm less populated. They also said that a low population realm in Classic was still going to have a higher population than the largest ones in Vanilla.

Remulos. Medium population normal Oceanic server.

I picked it specifically because I expected server queues and though this would be my best prospect of avoiding them.

Oh you’re oceanic I see.

Yes. I do feel for the U.S. community. But my point is not to get too attached to a server. Shop around for something that actually allows you to play.

Yea thats fair enough.

There are servers without a queue, ya know? The whole no way to play without a queue thing didn’t last more than a day.

The root of the problem is that you are assuming either of us see it as a problem.

We don’t. We are quite satisfied with the fact we have a high pop server that has a better chance of surviving than any others.

Going to steal this and show it to a friend. This essentially sums up what I want to say to a buddy.

You don’t need to go onto your original server in order to create a character with the same name on a different server…

What would make people think that?

Also, I kind of wish blizzard did the server release a little different. A possible alternative would have been “If you played on server X, Y, or Z consider playing on insert server name here”
That way if you wanted the best opportunity to link up with people from the past you had that option. You also would have the option to steer clear if that’s what you wanted to do.

I understand that would of required a much higher amount of servers to be active for launch and I believe there should have been.

The instant gratification crowd is already loud and proud on the forums.

Should be an interesting 2+ years.
