I have not seen a Black Lotus sense P2 dropped and layering ended.

Every expansion of WoW gets a new set of herbs in the game. But every expansion also gets at least one “rare” herb and/or ore. It seems to be a feature of the game.

In Classic, we have Black Lotus and we have Arcane Crystal. Those both sell for around 50g each on my AH.

In BFA we have Anchor Weed. When BFA was new, Anchor Weed sold for as high as 900g each. Even recently it was still 95g, while every other herb was 3g-8g.

I remember the launch of Pandaria. My gatherer found 1 of the new “rare herb” the second day, and never saw another one.

I play on a medium/high pop server and I scoop a lotus up about once a week, about an hour a day. I also get anywhere from 6-7 stacks of silversage and dreamfoil in that time. I’ve noticed in some zones during prime time there will be as many as 20 people herbing during lotus pops. During off times it still drops down to 5-6 people which is nice.

That being said, I know on some megaservers there can literally be 50 people competing for a lotus pop- at some point it’s just not worth your time. I know nochanges and all, but dynamic respawns (similar to mobs at launch, at a reduced rate) would make a ton of sense in farming professions based on server size.

I’m almost tempted to roll a character on a low pop server, level it to 60, load up an alt with lotus, silversage and anything else that’s rare on my server and transfer it over… lol

Than rinse and repeat every time you run out.

I do so much herb farming that my guild recently created a new rank (“Herb King”) and made me the sole person with that rank. I do a TON of herb farming. I bet in terms of quantity gathered and time doing it, I’m in the top 5% of herb farmers in all of Classic WoW. Also, I know where the Black Lotus nodes are in all of the zones in which they spawn.

And yet, to date, I’ve gathered exactly 2 Black Lotuses.

Add Remulos to that list of being way over populated. 24/7 people are farming and it’s a joke, GJ Blizz are screwing up yet another game.

I don’t care if I never see another black lotus. I made this to ask for other’s own experiences with it. If they were similar to mine or not. Maybe my farming method is wrong.

Ok, if it the post was worded a lot more strongly sure. You could interrupt that one part as a complaint, but its a stretch. You know it’s a stretch. The entirety of the post is clearly meant to ask for discussion. You see the multiple posts of people actually taking it how it was meant to be taken? Then look at the few trolls. Your joke falls in to the latter.

Do you mean to say, that if a complaint is mild, it ceases to be a complaint? That’s not how any of this works.

If I were full on ranting about carbon footprints, and global warming, It’d be fair to say I’m complaining about the weather.

If I commented: “Jeeze, it sure is warm today. Has anyone else noticed how warm it is today? Seems like a bit of a problem”—I’d still be complaining about the weather.

Oh P2 is when I found the most lotus. I was busy dodging PvP and zipping straight to the nodes. Wasn’t until Christmas that a pile more farmers showed up.
