I think people really just need to bin these Classic+ and additional legacy server conversations until Classic has run it’s course. No one right now has any answers or can predict how this is going to go. Just let Classic be Classic, and let’s get back to this once we hit the final phase and Blizzard is ready to think about the future.

I was saying that a No Parking sign means absolutely no parking. But people will read that and still park there. My analogy was that “Classic” is trying to provide absolutely authentic Vanilla 1.12 experience, much like a “No Parking” sign is an absolute statement. No parking.
Yeah, personally I’m pissed that I can’t run Classic on Windows 98 anymore.

You seem to forget that it’s not “Blizzard” anymore. It’s “Activision Blizzard” and if they think Classic+ will make more money, that’s what they will do. Saying that Classic+ isn’t going to happen is shortsighted. It might, it might not.
It’s only shortsighted if there is physical evidence to support that. Right now, no developer has stated any plans other than continuing this version of Vanilla patch 1.12. Which means no LFG tools, no flying mounts, no Cross realm grouping, no class balancing, none of that.

Everquest has been doing progression servers for a while now where they move through expansions often to an agreed upon stopping point (usually Planes of Power). They are pretty darn popular and drew thousands of players. Some players even jump ship and start again on a newly released progression server. They must really love that masochistic grind…
Yup LOTRO also has a progression server, and it looks pretty fun. But Classic is not a progression server, it is a Vanilla 1.12 server.
Blizz may add a third version of the game, WoW Classic + or WoW Classic Progression, or something. But this is not it.
It’s the rotten child of Legion is what it is, a smelly pushed out turd that has bugs all over it even as it slid out. Pservers had a more accurate Classic even a decade ago.
Burning Crusade and WotLK ARE Classic+. This whole conversation is hilarious and slightly pathetic. Blizzard can’t bring back your childhood, which is analogous to the term “Classic+” that keeps being used here
If there was this much outcry for NEW games then maybe Blizzard would actually start to make new games instead of rehashing the same crap over and over agin
Yup they essentially are Classic+. We don’t have a Classic+ server yet though, just a Classic server.

They ported the camera views and movement from retail. It’s most certainly NOT 1.12 in EVERY aspect.
I don’t remember layering being in patch 1.12 Vanilla and I was there.
I don’t agree with this notion. You’re treating everyone as a hivemind. There are plenty of people playing Classic who would not move onto a WotLK server, and there are plenty of people with no interest in Classic who would move to a WotLK server. Splintering isn’t going to happen to any significant amount, everyone doesn’t love every expansion.
