My main gripe with DHs is when they complain about having difficulty with something in-game because from where I sit as a shadow priest, I feel like they have nothing to complain about. Just seems like they have a much easier time with pretty much everything compared to my spec.
Or maybe I’m just bitter about how shadow’s turned out this expansion. Probably that!
Minmax will also continue as long as Blizzard builds encounters around “average” numbers which are inflated because of outlier classes.
A group of 3,5,7,12, 20 is going to be inflated because of that single outlier. Also, the 3 in that batch will deflate the average.
Almost nobody wants to play the “3”.
Almost everyone wants to play the “20”.
Also, this same thing happened with DKs early on. They were a lot stronger than other classes, but unlike Demon Hunters (and I do play DH), they eventually got a proper amount of balancing to make them more reasonable.
Though I will agree with the OP that instead of dragging the top down, we should bring the bottom up until the variance between classes is almost not worth discussing. Then the choice of what class to bring comes down to things like their utility abilities.
Having a DPS who can dispel Curses can be handy in a dungeon where there are lots of Curse based debuffs.
sorry…I almost spit up my hot coffee reading this, lol.
I seriously doubt this.
having wings and being fast isnt class design. Its a gimmick.
I see dead DH bodies from Wpvp just as often as I do any other class, so I dont think DHs are gods…and IF they are, then youre kinda PROVING the argument that they need to be nerfed, now arent you?
The reason a decent amount of people say this is because dh was designed with prune in mind back in Legion. So our abilities essentially cover all aspects, whereas other specs usually lean towards a specific area. Not saying that this is the case but havoc at the very least is fairly rounded. Veng is another story.
Someone has never had to micro-manage their pets, focus, and beast cleave lol
DHs have a pretty low skill ceiling for the value they offer. With the right talent set-up and ATs, you don’t even really have to worry too much about resources.
Back to BM, you have to watch your focus like a maniac or you wind-up starved and losing a LOT of DPS.
I’m not going to continue. I’m sure all the arguments have been beat to death in here.
I enjoy playing DH more than my hunter because it’s more fun but it is absolutely FAR easier to play for the value I get when compared to my hunter.
I’d like to see them bring other classes to a similar level of effectiveness. Let’s face it though that would be way to much work on their end to make that happen. It’s easier for them to nerf the one or few overpowered classes to bring them down a peg than actually make the effort bringing the rest of the classes to an equal playing field.
The game should be designed as harder to play -> more damage, not the other way around. And they even have a buff for magic users. Why should one of the easiest and best DPS in the game still got a big support buff?
Well the difference between DH’s and BM’s is that with BM you need skill, with DH I can just roll my face on the keyboard in a raid for 5 mins and collect loot
To be fair at least those of us on the dh forum for the most part agree that there isn’t a need for us providing the magic debuff, we’d be fine without it.
