This game has ruined other mmos for me

Once of the reasons why WoW players have a hard time with even basic fights over there, they don’t have 1000 addons screaming at them. Not only that, trying to do the fights while also doing more complex rotations compared to WoW doesn’t mix well with most WoW players lol.

I would probably be playing GW2 if it had controller support and something similar to Delves

But since it doesn’t I’m gonna be getting cozy here for a while.

That game’s ui seems designed for controller lol very surprised it doesnt support controller.

Yea it’s insane that it doesn’t… Especially when you factor in Action Camera which plays like third person ARPG lol

You can play Guild Wars 2 with a controller, you just have to do some third party shenanigans for it.

So, since WoW, I’ve only played two MMOs, SWToR and FF14. Both had their high and low points. SWToR combat felt reasonable, but as a class, Jedi was mostly humorless, and the whole game felt completely on-rails. We were promised a huge universe, and wound up going to little bubbles of zones on selected planets.

FF14 was just slow, and by the time I got to the first non-free expansion, it even got to be glacial. Not to mention that the combat styles were very slow (it didn’t help that I was playing a tank, and then a Red Wizard), but that if I wanted to change classes, I needed to get an entire new wardrobe, and save space for everything else. And aside from the Manderville quest lines, it was horribly serious. The tragic parts I liked, but it had the emotional range of a bad soap opera. Something good only happens as a gateway for something really bad to happen.

Also, yes, the combat, and the lack of arbitrary loading windows, help to keep WoW smooth as silk.

Rift was SOOO good when it came out. But then it just died.

I loved that you can set your own level. So you could set yourself slightly low level for a zone to give yourself an extra challenge.

Does rift still have servers? If it does it’s not the same game. I’d play a rift classic.

It does. But even the auction house is completely dead now. :frowning:

FFXIV is the second best in this department and still super far behind. It’s just WoW but slower.

ESO and Gw2 give you limited abilities at a time. The non target combat isn’t awful but it can be a bit jank in an mmo format. Also both games priortize horizontal versus vertigal progression which for me makes you feel aimless.

SWTOR combat is uh somewhat weird hybrid between wow and gw2. I didn’t love it. Great story and the game became pretty garbage. If I ever play it again I might just do the stories I didn’t get to/finish then again I could just do a lets play.

I don’t think any other game is worth mentioning.

If you can ignore the Korean shop funsies, Black Desert Online still has the best combat of any MMO.

Well if its like lost ark than its a dealbreaker tbh.

So sad how great games can die so easily from terrible greedy cash shops.

This is actual an issue with me because of my adhd (I have an actual diagonsis) it makes it really difficult to focus on all the information in an endgame encounter. DBM yelling at me does so much. It really is an accessibility thing. I know some folks use (illegal) add ons/mods in ffxiv but I don’t wanna risk my account even if it’s only 0.01% chance. But for my FFXIV isn’t about endgame or even combat. The combat is acceptable but could never beat wow. It’s about the amazing story/imersion/friendly community/vibes.

I mostly ignore it. I like to jump on BDO once in a great moon just to goof off. There is no other MMO with combat like it lol:

ESO is my go to secondary only because it lets me do some outlandish characters, here is a sample:

Skeletor - Lalatina - Prince Lotor

Idk the other characters but skeletor looks really good and i love the scary corgi

All you need is WoW. It’s always been here, always loyal, and soooo smoooooth.

If Guild Wars 2 had native Controller support, that is what I’d be playing full time.

I’m a huge fan of open-world content, and GW2 does it the best, imo. in particular I love that the leveling process in GW2 is so well-tied to the Open World, you can level just by wandering and doing stuff and progressing map completion, or you can take the more linear story mission approach.

WoW has made some really great strides in its open world the past 2 expansions tho, so I’m having a good time.
