This game failed new players

I have three, as blood dk, but it seems hit and miss as to which is immune or what actually interrupts

Fixed it for you.

Hogwash.

New players have more resources at the tips of their fingers to learn how to play than ever before.

Pretty funny Fail-and-din!

Fail -uh - din

Hooked on phonics bruh

My six year old daughter could interrupt. Peeps just need to have things explained if they are too lazy to read the spells carefully.

I usually tell new people to read icy veins, but these rotations assume that players know how to get out of stuff and interupt. Another thing most players don’t do well is cleanse bad dots.

I always have raid panels and often dispell dots from players because the healer isn’t doing it (while playing my Pallidan or Monk Tank for example). Many mages don’t even know how to steal buffs, which can make a huge difference.

I do agree that Proving Grounds Copper should be completed before you can join looking for group and Proving grounds silver should be completed before you can LFG heroic or LFR.

Silver should only take 10 fails for most players before they figure it out. Many players get silver on first attempt.

You are both Fail and Din… I know it’s tough to comprehend…

Part of the problem is the GOGOGOGO mentality of leveling dungeons. I started WOW during WoD, so low level dungeons were for racing through. The first dungeon I ran I was struggling just to keep up - I couldn’t learn mechanics, rotations, routes, anything. I was leveling so fast that new skills were sometimes missed. It also scared me from ever trying to tank or heal. It’s a tough situation for new players.

That was WOD, not MOP.

Oh I got it and it was very clever. Good job

New players failed themselves.

That is the problem with all dungeons. I’ve seen people trying to kick tanks for going slow. But even going slow is better than standing around waiting for a tank to show up. I don’t mind going slow myself.

I could see that working, to an extent.

Heroic Dungeon: Bronze

Mythic 0/LFR: Silver

Mythic+2-6/Normal: Gold

Mythic+7-10/Heroic: Endless 20

Mythic Raid-esuqe or anything beyond +10: Endless 30+

Problem with the proving grounds was in their design. I had 7 characters in WoD, got silver first attempt on 5 of them and the other two required specific talent choices (then they were easy). I didn’t really think they reflected skills useful for playing a dungeon or raid where you have multiple people. It was what it was, not a true measure of performance.

You wouldn’t need it for premades and WQ rewards.

But on second thought for pugs I would say just copper for LFR as well. Seriously, if you can’t get copper, you need to study it a bit and if that doesn’t work, you should stick with friends and nice volunteers. You should still be able to pug with partial premades as long as leader has proving ground done.

I have Endless 30/Title for BFA.

I actually like the Proving Grounds as a means for queuing.

Then again, I prefer queuing over premades.

LFR doesn’t really require interrupts anyway, which is what most players do for endgame, OP.

Why would they know about it? I cant think of a single mob ive needed to silence/interrupt/cc while levelling up. Boosting doesnt matter in this case.

You learn by running a dungeon and getting told. “Dude can you silence the mage mobs?” “Hey interupt that skill please”

Granted most people cant read so theres that to deal with.

People need to level for 120 levels to actually understand an spec? If that is true it tells me that the WoW community is mostly filled by really bad players.

Gonna be honest, I played this game for 9 years never using my interrupt. Until Demon Hunter rewarded me for using it. Then I finally put it on the same button on all the classes that have one.
