It’s absolutely beautiful irony that you reach this much and then accuse someone else of mental gymnastics.
what are you talking about? you want to deprive your class trainer of the gold they would be making off all the arduous talent wipes they have to cast on all these players? whats wrong with you? dont you understand these class trainers need gold too?
Lol agreed. I sometimes go pickpocket in BRD just for funsies and I’m always amazed it’s recommended as a farming strategy. The only thing I like about it is the free blinding powder.
My “meaningful choice” is garbage at PVE or garbage at PVP?
Not fun.
Meaningful choice until you’re told you picked the wrong one for raiding.
no such thing as a wrong choice, you can raid with literally any spec. no spec locks you out of raids.
Moreover, if the guild you are with is not going to let you raid because they say you have the wrong spec, then GET A DIFFERENT GUILD!
…you get that in retail…
What percent of Classic players feel that they must play 2 different specs every week? Is it 20% of all players, or 2%, or only 0.2%?
It doesn’t matter. It’s enough that Blizzard later changed WoW to allow “dual spec”. So Blizzard agrees with this change.
Unfortunately, Classic is the “Vanilla, before Blizzard changes” game. It is that game intentionally, because that is what players asked Blizzard for. So this is the last place for any Blizzard changes to happen.
And later did away with talent builds spanning multiple trees entirely.
Says who? I raid heal with my “imp mana burn” discipline spec without any issues.
That is based on the assumption that every change made in retail is bad and Vanilla is a perfect game with no flaws. You’re entitled to that opinion but I doubt many hold it. Both games have flaws. Imo the flaws in retail outweigh the good and in classic the good outweighs the flaws. To note a flaw in classic doesn’t mean retail doesn’t have more flaws and less good than classic over all.
The world is complex. Some people can’t grapple with that complexity and need to simplify it into a duality.
I don’t know of any healers who wouldn’t rather farm on an alt. Farming as heal spec sucks. This isn’t a reason to change respec costs.

It’s one of many reasons to change respec costs. The respec cost doesn’t accomplish anything positive for the game.
No it isn’t. It’s not necessary to farm on a heal specced character. Respec costs encourage you to make more careful choices about what your character wants to accomplish.
Is it less necessary to farm with a heal spec than it is to roll a second character to farm? Is a heal spec’d character without the means to respec twice between raids not forced to farm in their heal spec?
The talent spec itself forces players to be careful with choices. Only being able to respec in a capitol city forces players to be careful with choices. The associated cost only creates an unnecessary barrier to players utilizing their entire class. When it’s more reasonable to level the same class twice to play two different specs frequently than it is to respec, then there’s a clear problem.
What you’ve just said is the equivalent of telling people with financial struggles that it’s not necessary to be poor. Your logic is that ridiculous.
are there any guides or videos showing how to do this? been starving for a good gold farm since i can’t farm open world do to bots and overcrowding.
By logging on an alt to farm you dropped the need to spend any gold. How is that staying poor? Are you telling me there are healers in guilds where consumables are mandatory, and these same healers don’t have the means to level an alt for more efficient farming? Now who’s being rediculous!
It is not more reasonable to tell someone they need to level a second character to 60 and gear it out to farm as a solution to not having to constantly respec or to farm in a heal spec. It’s completely ridiculous.
Name one positive effect the respec cost has on the game or the players. Just name one.
