This Expansion Isn't Holding People's Interest

sounds to me TC and his friends are upset they can’t burn through content like the locusts they are?

No one likes the new Renown Battle pass system?

You don’t speak for me or my guild.

Slightly off topic…

Just coming back, should I play through BFA first to know whats going on in SL.

Refunded SL due to laptop issues that seem resolved now but I’m thinking maybe to understand what’s going on, I should do BFA first.

I’m beting you made the same post for the last 3 xpacs. Like this one I’m sure they were all bs too

You need to figure out what style of play you’re into. There are people who enjoy exponential growth and being part of the curve. Then there are people who just want to play as much as they can, when they can without restrictions. What I’ve been coming to learn is that WoW is very much the former early on in an expansion, and then transitions towards the latter (albeit having to be at peace with missing out with a lot of benefits other players earned earlier on). So decide what works best for you, and play the game accordingly. (or dont)

Literally 4 days in many of my mates said they unsubbing because they hated how WoW turned out, my guild now also has a max 3-5 people online if that…coming from BFA when we would have 30-40 online at a time running all forms of content new and old.

Shadowlands hasn’t been good for me :(, but I’m enjoying it to a degree just everyone around me thinks differently.

If we had flying it’d be cooler.

The fact the game is base around “seasons” tells me I’m not the target audience anymore. I’m so glad the Diablo developers brought their crappy action RPG designs to WoW.

Not sure what this is. Do you just mean renown in general?
If so I like it a lot and would love to grind it out but its capped per week so there isn’t much to do at the moment with it as I just seem to get it by playing the game the way I do.

It was based on seasons in vanilla with raid tiers and TBC introduced arena seasons. If this is your complaint then WoW hasn’t been for you for a very long time.

So, a huge chunk of content they basically built the entire expansion around, your perfectly fine just doing for 1 month and never touching again for 2 years?

When they could and should, make it more enticing to do every month. Its wasted potential. It will be Islands 2.0. Except they actually found a way to at least force you to do Torghast for a month.

This is very poor decision making. At that point, they should have spent more time on other parts of the game, then.

Vanilla and TBC were not based around how seasons work now in modern WoW, this was a huge stretch here lol. The entire game didn’t reset when a new raid launched. All the content keeps scailing in rewards and difficulty with each season. Functions just like an action RPG like Diablo.

This is a different argument then your initial one. With that said tier resets started at the end of TCB due to the problem with feeder guilds not being able to progress past Kara, they introduced badge gear so that casual players could advance.

By WotLK these systems were in full effect.

Furthermore to illustrate the ideas of seasons look at the release of any raid tier and you see people returning from breaks. Once the content is cleared they take another break. Classic servers are a perfect example of this, when MC was cleared people came back to retail if they didn’t pvp, with each raid release people go back to reexperience it and then leave again. That is a clear indication of a seasonal release cycle.

So you are incorrect.

got to level 58 and bored and am more or less forcing myself to play. Just another grind.

I do appreciate the level squish

It’s because they timegated the heck out of it when they promised no timegated content .

LIKE BLIZZ JUST LET ME DO MY COVENANT STORY WHY IS IT WEEKLY TIMEGATED .

No it doesnt or it would get development time. You are playing battlegrounds and arenas from years ago because the population doesnt justify having any of the budget directed to pvp.

I think this guy is right.

WoW’s endgame doesn’t have much to do if you remove all of the endgame content.

OP’s wrong, but I’m honestly feeling a bit similarly about WoW at the moment. The difference is, I’m able to sit back and look at things objectively and with a hint of introspection and think that maybe it’s just me. I’m in two guilds on NA and one on EU everyone seems to be in love, and I think there are great things about SL.

Because grind isn’t as fun as RNG. Sorry but removing RNG from gearing as much as they have (and yes I know it is still there), makes for a boring game.

Odd. Me and my friends have been enjoying the game and I’m excited for season 1 to start.

These forums are honestly the only place I see much complaining.
