You don’t understand how this works. Lots of people do farm rare things on characters of appropriate levels. The idea that it’s way too much trouble to put an hour or two into leveling a level 1 that has an extremely rare item to the point where they could learn is just weird.
I’m the guy who had my leatherworker on Zul’jin craft a low level item that came from a world drop pattern that is rarely available now only because hardly anybody is playing that content, to give to a friend on another server who rolled an allied race character on my server so they could add the item to their collection. Learned it and then deleted the character.
I understand that you think playing on rails is the only right way to play the game, and everyone who does things for fun is doing it wrong. Especially cosmetics. I don’t know why you feel that way. My personal opinion is that there’s way too much fomo in the game, and while it’s been good for a certain type of collector, it’s been bad for the game in that it causes toxicity and discourages new players.
I don’t get that. For people who don’t have a lot of characters, it makes sense to roll level 1’s, put one in each capital city, and start farming. Doing the event every half hour means it saves you a boatload of time, while leveling that character means you’ll miss a spawn or two. Why level a character you intend to delete if it doesn’t get the item?
A lot of people put level 10’s at Pandaria world boss spawns. It made no sense to level them up to 17, the level at which they could learn the mount unless they got the drop.

Just for posterity’s sake, I’ll note that this happened to me once.
I posted an objective fact about what-I-can’t-remember-atm that the crowd with pitchforks around here didn’t like, and I got sat in a corner for it. I got mass-reported over nothing.
Thankfully, enough people started to post about how I said/did nothing wrong … and it was reversed.
But you previously said that players shouldn’t farm rare items like those in this event on level 1’s. You said they should level them up first, even if the character will be deleted if they don’t get one of those drops.
I like the game for what it is but overall the new (activision) blizz have a hardship to come up with new ideas (can’t steal anything these days as ideas because everything became generic, not like the old days when Tolkien’s, Lovecraft’s worlds were only in the books and not visualized in some sort). But gotta agree that the ‘event’ is scuffed. Could have put us in the Emerald Dream or some Nozdormu dream and give us Diablo himself as a world boss with his leutenants (like Fyrakk’s assault) or something. Who cares, it’s a fantasy world and the event is a one time thing. Instead we chase Bobby.
While I do agree this event has made me a bitter bitter person, it is nice that there’s even a CHANCE you can get an exclusive mount again. Dw it came back two times now, it will probably get put in the trading post at some point. Just farm it once or twice a day and call it a game. There’s far better looking mounts to get anyways and some of those are garunteed. I.e: class hall mounts from legion!
I agree. I really wish blizzard would stop making mounts RNG during limited time events like this. If I have to go kill 500 goblins, as long as I know I’m going to get the mount, I will absolutely do it. The worst thing is that I can do every single goblin that spawns while I’m online and at the end of the event not even have anything to show for it
Wahhhh wahhhhh I don’t get what I want and I won’t do the grinding required to get it. There I fixed your post for you. Most of us got the mount paying for an ANNUAL PASS, it was ALSO on the in-game shop for 25 dollars and has been shown to be a probable trading post mount in 10.1.5…mount drops are NEVER easy. I farmed Onyxia for the mount for literally 4 yrs straight before getting it, put your big boy pants on and farm the goblin. If you don’t want to farm the goblin don’t get the mount, pretty simple.
You can farm the goblin and not get the mount. Meanwhile you can kill the goblin once and get it. We’re literally asking to be able to farm the goblin for the mount.

Doesn’t seem likely – I keep getting “boosted” odds on my first kill of the day, yielding only 30g and nothing else (not even charms!). It’s not THAT big a deal, just annoying.
Tyrael’s Charger was never on the Trader post yet…few months back it was in the Blizzard Store for sale for about 2 months then before that only way to have gotten it was having been in Game during Cata and did the Annual Pass for 12 months…the Celestial Steed was the Trading post…seems you are not paying attention.
NO your wrong…the Tyrael’s Charger has never been on the Trading post yet…it was in the Blizzard store few months back for sale…and the only other time it was a reward for getting the Annual Pass during Cata for the up coming MoP game …so again YOUR WRONG.
