I’ve only killed the dude like 5 or 6 times and I’ve gotten Wirt’s leg, the cloak, two pets and lots of charms. I think the mount is the only thing I haven’t seen yet
no idea why you goofballs are torturing yourself chasing this now lame mount. it was cool when it had been unobtainable for like 10 years. now its been sold for cash, dropped from gobs, and will certainly soon be available for tendies since they decided to ruin other removed mounts rarity there too.
tldr; go touch grass and before you know it it’ll be available for purchase for 700 tendies
There’s definitely something going on with drop rates. I get the pet just about every other kill. I’ve gotten the mana item 3 times and various others but have never seen anyone get the mount and I have yet to see the hearthstone or the banner toy which are the two items I’m still waiting for. Got the bag on 2 toons I’ve attempted it on either 1st or 2nd try. This is kind of frustrating. Would have been better if they set up a vendor and just had it drop some kind of tokens you could collect and exchange like the trading post.

I only managed a single kill, got the 36 slot and like a cloak/hood combo or something. Tried to hit it up again but either it died the instant before I got there, or I couldn’t find the portal. I’m not the type that gets into a collecting spree with this limited time stuff so it was pretty easy to just go back to acting like it’s not even a thing.
Tbh I kind of feel sorry for all the people who insist they must get the mount, etc. I wouldn’t even know which end is up on this thing without wowhead, and then, like I said, I still found it to be a bit of a pain.
FOMO is more human nature than anything else. At some point in anyone’s life, there will come a time when someone wants something, seemingly available for a limited time, and they don’t want to miss out. A lot of people don’t really stop to think about this and say…well, what you said, basically. Companies just know how to prey on that part of our minds, hence why they repeat this tactic ad nauseum.

Events like this really should have a reasonable (read: able to be sufficiently gained for all rewards at an extremely casual pace) number of tokens one can use to trade for the rewards, with tokens guaranteed to drop at a consistent pace from the Treasure Goblins. Sure, the hardcores who play 24/7 would be done in a day, but for everyone else with obligations on their time outside of the game, it’d make it less stressful and more enjoyable.

I dunno if there’s another server that participates in “mass reporting” (which, as Nobully pointed out, is not a thing) but that one certainly never did.

We shouldn’t be blaming players for blizzards reliance on low/random drop rates as the main driver of engagement.
It’s not a fun event, the first time you do it isn’t even that exciting. Stand around for 5 minutes staring at a portal while everyone afks.
It’s just tedious, repetitive spam my one ability at the floating nameplate so I get credit. What did he drop? Oh cool, the intellect charm for my hunter and 39g.
It doesn’t even respect your time by letting you do the event while doing the content that you prefer. You have to stop what you’re doing to go wait at the portal, which allows you to get frustrated by how flat and boring the event is. I’d rather the goblin spawn mid battleground/dungeon/world quest and make me have to chase him. Y’know, like every other loot goblin in every other game.
They should have made his spawns fun and spontaneous with high drop rates…but they didn’t because blizzard wants people to be on the treadmill. If blizzard gave us the loot we’d all realize how meaningless these “events” are.

If it makes you feel better I didn’t even know the event was happening. Just happen to be slightly afk at spawn point of goblin. Only killed it once got mount. Backpack tmog and pet first kill. Haven’t killed it since
But have fun farming!

I understand those feelings, I think everyone does to some extent.
Where I’m coming from this that this is a game. You literally can play any way you want within the perimeters of whatever game your playing.
If sitting and waiting for the event is boring, don’t do it?
If running the same dungeon 400 times is boring and frustrating, don’t do it?
I just don’t understand the whining about something you are choosing to do in a game.
