You disagree, but you agree now that you’ve phrased it in your own words?
The fun bit is that the unlocked lightning aesthetic shows up on the LFR set, too. That’s what I want to show off, but the green tint is just the best looking of the bunch.
Earn your LFR transmogs by doing LFR in horrible gear like the rest of us. Lol
Or catalyst some low M+ gear.
People wanting everything for free, there’s ways to earn it go earn it.
Did you read the post? That’s literally what I’m doing. And dragging LFR down with me.
The catalyst has a finite number of charges. Some of those were likely needed to get the higher iLvl tier slots. This is not the solution to the problem.
Pretty sure if you Catalyst something at the baseline appearance, it gives it in the LFR and then you can VP upgrade it and collect additional appearances that way.
In What way is it gross?
Here’s the way I see at it - LFR players don’t mind having to carry yet another “fellow LFRer”. What they do care about is the boogie man, the big mean raider swooping into their little safe haven and “stealing” loot from them. It’s all optics and feelings. It has nothing to do with actually resolving an actual problem but resolving a perceived problem.
When is the last time you saw an LFR player whining about a raider stealing their care? That problem has gone away. Now all you see is posts like this, raiders pretending LFRer players should be mad when they aren’t. The system works - the vocal majority of LFRers are contented and the raiders who want the mogs will jump through the hoops to work around the restriction in a way that keeps LFRers happy.
That’s not how it works in my experience, unless the threshold for that change is above the “real” iLvl of the piece. It’s also now requiring 2 difference currencies for 1 appearance that, by all rights, should be available to everyone equally in the first place; Like many other I think the best solution would be getting the higher ilvl version unlocks the lower ilvl ones too, but I would be willing to accept the PVP solution of “If you did the thing it unlocks on a vendor for some kind of currency”
I mean, you could also just get the elemental overflow storm set at lowest Ilvl and just throw that in the catalyst in a few weeks. That’s like a solid afternoon of farming.
I guess I just don’t see why you took the hardest path possible just so you can roll for gear you don’t need.

EDIT - Nevermind, I was under the impression the catalyst just kept accumulating charges all season. Was not aware of the cap.
The catalyst has 6 charges. There are 8 slots to transform for the appearance.
Yeah, that’s why I said in a few weeks. I’m assuming that his main who is carrying groups already has his set.
You mis-understand. The maximum is 6. It’s not going up in a few weeks. Once we hit 6 that’s it until the next season where items will catalize in to the next season’s set.
Oh, I did misunderstand.
I thought it was going to keep going until the end of the season.
You can only hold 6 at a time.
If you spend 6, and then you get 3 more, and then you spend those 3, you can get all 9 slots (people in this thread forgetting cloak is also part of the trasnmog set now, not just boots/belt/bracer).
Ok so it caps at 6, but as long as you spend them you can get more.
That makes more sense.
That’s very different from how it was explained originally, but I’ll take your word on it until/unless proven otherwise.
LFR doesn’t need to incentivize overgeared players carrying. That’s not a perk. If LFR doesn’t function without that, then it needs tuning or mechanical changes.
Isn’t the LFR tint the base one for catalyst?
How are you dragging it down?
It can pretty much be face rolled while ignoring the mechanics, other bosses just require 6 deter stacks to ignore the mechanics.
