It’s already 80% of the way there. Might as well finish it off and let it be a full ranged spec.
Are you trying to make void DH feel bad?
Can we stop with the “It’s time” thread titles? It’s not some grand proclamation. It doesn’t add any emphasis to what comes after it. It’s just lame.
That said, I was thinking the same thing about unholy just yesterday. Doing a full necromancer style build with maximum minions and clawing shadows. And yeah it’s almost fully ranged. It’s really just festering strike that needs a reliable replacement. Although you do get wounds from minions and from d&d/desecrate. I only gave it a short amount of time on the dummies, but maybe there’s something to it.
Wait, just looking at the talents again now. Do our minions not apply wounds? I swear they used to. It’s been a while since I really played unholy.
Sadly, that is just a hope!
Only if Unholy Death Knights get to use bows and guns.
“May I politely suggest that we make Unholy Deathknights a fully ranged class-specialisation my good fellows?”
It’s time to stop making threads with “it’s time” in the title. ![]()

It’s time…
To get a new watch! Ha!
Fair enough. It just feels like blizzard has been dancing around it for awhile now and I wish they’d just fully commit. It’s really weird to be like 90% ranged but then have to go melee for festering strike. Think it would be an interesting gimick to just make unholy DK a straight up ranged spec. Sending waves of shadows and death out of their sword from far away.
I’m with you. With the bold mix up of making the new demon hunter spec a mid ranged caster the prospect of a ranged dk doesn’t seem far-fetched to me at all. Maybe make them almost a homage to the wc2 dk!
Actually I would love this, as it not only plays homeage to the original DKs from Warcraft 2 but also allows for some Necromancer class fantasy all in one ![]()
Jean-Luke Picerd: make it soooo
