i’ve spent years on those achievements…why is the achievement progress even tied to a server transfer unless your forced to rename?

also im still not completely understanding the caged pets thing.

I was thinking about transferring horde and a different server but i cant i have too much gold

It’s a coding thing. I’m not privy to know why.

Add the pets to your pet collections. What’s not to understand? Your pet collection is account wide. You can cage those pets anywhere at any time on any server.

also this might seem inconsequential but it says guild message of the will be changed. does that mean if there are other unique members in the guild the guild message of the day will not be able to be changed on the new guild until they transfer too?

that’s kind of the problem…these are excess pets i have caged that i CAN’T ADD because i hit the 3 pet limit. is this a new restriction because i swore it wasnt there in mop.

When i transferred i think you leave your guild unless you do guild transfer

That information would have been helpful earlier.

So here’s what you do:

  1. Log into a character on another server (or create a character on the server you’re transferring to)
  2. Cage the pets you have a max 3/3 of
  3. Log into the character you’re going to transfer
  4. Add those pets to your collection now
  5. Server transfer
  6. Cage the pets on the transferred character that you’re now 3/3 of
  7. Go back to the other character with the caged pets and add them back to your collections

I left zul’jin and went to Quel’dori cluster. It’s not dead but it isn’t busy either.

Or you can just make a lvl one on that server before you transfer put them in cages and mail them later

That too. I’m always prone to make an Allied Race on a new realm to check it out before I transfer anyway.

also when i do a guild transfer is it done one character at a time starting with gm?

You transfer the guild and everythings thats in it, but the toons thats in it have to move separately

  • When performing a Guild Realm Transfer or Guild Faction Change, only the Guild Master character transfers realms or switches factions. The Guild Master takes the framework of the guild—including the guild bank, perks, and completed achievements—and has to reassign ranks on the new realm.

Pretty sure the GM has to move with the guild.

Everyone beyond that is separate.

question so if im reading the page right your forced to change your guilds name if you transfer regardless of its taken or not? this would be a deal breaker.
also if i put placeholder characters and delete them to save names how long before they are out of the system and i can transfer? 72 hours?
any other reccomended servers thrall seems to be really high pop. am looking more in the range of 8-10k horde side.

Unless you’re wanting to join a specific Guild then a realm transfer is a waste of money. The only time you’ll notice it is inside Org/SW.
