I knew this kid back in high school, like friend of a friend kind of deal. He was a year under me and the next captain of the debate team. He was a nutty good student, so good that he went to Columbia for College.
Second year of college, this kid hung himself in his dorm. Just like that, no warnings whatsoever, he was gone. That was about 2 years ago.
I won’t pretend that I cared about him personally, and I won’t pretend to know how much his real friends suffered, but man, it’s still a shock to know he’s really gone. You’re 100% right; hug your family and your friends, because you never know when you’ll lose them.
