Things you want from Classic +

At this point I just want Holly and Aggrend to not work on it

phases like SoD did, imo the way phases kept everyone close together, and not having 50% of the population pulling way ahead like in normal classics, made the game much more enjoyable, phases made SoD good.

hey what is CLASSIC plus and when is classic +

I started playing retail around war within and I suck at the PVP, dont care about the raids and have no interest in the modern writing teams’ story about girl bosses and angry paladins.

I did enjoy the mindless questing I was doing in classic anni vanilla until I got tricked into playing midnight and went from 2300 rated to hardstuck 1100. HARD PASS ty

What I want from a classic+ is closer to a wow2 but with its core rpg aspects similar to classic but with far more focus on horizontal progression systems, all professions trainable but an entire revamp of the professions to make them a bigger core aspect of the game, a survival skill, high elves and goblins, sandbox elements, larger zones with limited open world crafting systems for housing, max level 100 but it takes an extremely long time to ever get to 100. A game that can slowly add new horizonal systems and skills and regions over time like OSRS. No boosts. I want a game thatll last for many years to come. Questing still being a core aspect of the game. Probably would never appeal to retail fans but might to old school mmo fans. Oh and no cash shop…

My only concerns are: player power and forced balance.

Classic vanilla works precisely because power scales slowly, while leveling gear is scarce, and even at endgame where power begins to scale faster it is still slow enough not to skip tiers. In sod the opposite was introduced, phased leveling tiers with raid checkpoints every few levels gave incredible power, vastly outscaling any other items for that level range.

Likewise at endgame gearing became so powerful they had to retune the entire game to withstand it and even then it trivialized the world.

Systems within systems trying to reinvent fun, but this is modern wow’s approach, isn’t it silly to take this direction AGAIN!? If people only want endgame why not legitimately play any other version of wow, classic or modern? There is a contradiction between what players want and what they don’t. This can be seen clearly in the classic+ survey, where some questions get a clear no and then another similar question later on gets a yes.

You must understand that the social structure of classic is built on imperfection , it is built on the slow and tedious struggle of a regular foot soldier living in a dangerous world, not a champion with godlike powers 1 shotting their way into endgame then quitting 2 weeks later due to having exhausted all content and grown bored.

The struggle and class design are made in a way that favors clear weaknesses and strengths. These weaknesses force players to group naturally to compensate for their lack, and the entire social structure is baked into it.

If we introduce power creep, and “perfect” class balance, we are back to modern wow where classes are near identical with no clear str/weakness, hence no real incentive to group outside of the only metric left:gearing.

This destroys the guild social structure and pushes for lfg like pugging , quick raids and leave, minimal socializing and raid logging. This kills the social structure unique to vanilla.

People are ignorant about their ignorance. They call for changes which inevitably lead to a worst experience then blames blizzard for their lack of delivery.

In my opinion, a certain turtle version came closer to an ideal vanilla like alternate evolution than sod did. Sod was basically making a vanilla remix using modern wow tools and tricks, whereas the other was trying to make an osrs.

I’d love to see more races/classes in the old style. 4 races per side is so boring at this point… I’m really curious what a classic monk or death knight would look like. But it’s probably just me…

sod was classic +

Not even remotely close.

6/9 would just be tbc talents.
I think we need to do tbc pvp system and sods unique class quests expansions. As well as quests like the .5 quests.

More like Retail+

I want to see feral druids and other dps classes do way better. I want to see more 25 man raids, 40 is just too much for me but that is anti OG classic, just my take. I would also like to see hardcore options for classic +, I think hardcore on a “nonsolved” game would be so fun. Something about the stakes, at the same time when I died at lvl 60 on my hardcore character I just quit because I was so sad so maybe a bad idea haha.

I would also like to see new classic like items. Like weird but super useful items from quest, drops, etc. But not like obvious great items, like niche o you got this in Tanaris and its super useful in this new lvl 60 dungeon.

Just an improved SoD, best version of wow in years.

If you’re a retail tourist, yes. SoD was “vanilla redesigned to appeal to retail players”.

Blizzard won’t be catering to this current player base with Classic+ they’d be crazy to. There’s no ROI. Why cater to people who have no tolerance for any in game friction with no adaptation skills?

Wipe 5 times on a boss. OMG nerf. Can’t clear week 2. OMG nerf. Run back too far. OMG Starfire busted. nerf. OMG Rogue Mage Priest busted. nerf. Respawn time to slow. Change. Gold requirement too high. Remove gate keeping. Priests can heal, how come warriors can’t heal? Priest imba.

Some of you are the bottom of the barrel MMORPG players. I thought SoD was bad, Anniversary TBC is the worst i’ve ever seen.

Seriously.
