Things that will save wow but upset players

I never played WC3 so fair enough. Still, it’s not unreasonable for alliance players to be able to play one of the alliance races - even a scuffed version with de-void modifications - though I’d argue they should have just put in high elves in the first place and not bothered with all the lame void stuff.

the void elves were the compromise for blizzard they even gave more high elf looking appearances later. they wanted a lore reason first for the alliance to have them and at the same time not them being the ones the player base were asking for alot of retcons would have had to happen which would mess to much with the lore.

There are addons out there that are purely cosmetic like Adapt. It doesn’t tell me how to do fights nor where to find nodes like flowers or veins. It just animates portraits, that’s it.

TRP3 is nothing more than an electronic character sheet, to flesh out character stories. I’ve seen some impressive profiles. It does nothing for PvP nor boss fights.

I swear, folks that advocate for banning ALL addons, don’t realize there are addons out there that do nothing but make UIs prettier like Adapt.

EDIT: Be angry at specific addons, that’s fine (I hate the guild invite addon) but not ALL of them deserve the ban hammer.

Nobody is asking for this, and frankly, nobody wants or cares about this anymore.

I wouldn’t mind this to a degree. Taking out DBM and stuff would be cool to see especially.

*Focus less on the opinions of the top% raiders when designing raids. However, I will agree that there needs to be more content for the players who don’t raid, PvP, mythic+, etc.

This gets all of my yes, though, there would need to be an implied winner, which won’t go over well with the patriotic playerbase.

While I don’t personally mind this, I have never seen people ask for this or even care. The only gripe I have is lore restrictions, which practically won’t matter anymore when the pre-patch hits.

I am mixed on this. On one hand, ‘it was all a dream oooo!’ is SO STUPID, but on the other, implying the story of BfA and SL didn’t happen is a big win considering how garbage those stories were. Still though, I think you would still be saying the same thing here about Dragonflight if we were on the next expansion and already and Dragonflight’s story turned out to be complete crap. The issue isn’t necessarily that these things happened per-se, more so the issue is that these stories were handled VERY poorly due to incompetent writing. All we can hope for going forward is that the story writing somehow improves.

I don’t entirely disagree with this, considering the changes coming in 9.2.5, however, since PvP is one of the three major content pillars in WoW, this would become a nightmare, unless the devs make PvP free-for-all only, which I doubt.

Overall, none of these things would ‘save WoW’. Some of these changes would be great for the game, especially story improvements, however, none of these things would definitively ‘save WoW’.

Wishful thinking at it finest.

the question still stand what are things you think will save wow but upset players.

I’d disagree heavily, but obviously I’m biased because I raid (and dungeon) and find much more enjoyment in those activities than in world content.

But, I also think the way Blizzard, and pretty much every MMORPG, handles World Content is just… godawful. If they come up with a way to make world content engaging to a player who values playing well, then cool, maybe I’d opposite expanding it less. (The issue is I can’t think of a way to have world content be still be world content and also be engaging without infringing on the ‘MMO’ part of ‘MMORPG’, like Destiny kind of does).

As things are now, the only thing I can really support is more questing between major patches. It seems like it should be some of the least resource-intensive content to add, but we constantly get the bare minimum in batches with content patches several months apart from each other. Why?

I like this one.

Not correct. This would not upset players.
And good idea, though.

I actually agree with all of this.

Sargeras being made Warchief, and playable demons is the only thing that can save wow. Oh, and what sword in Silithus made into a sword that only warriors can wield

Agree, wholeheartedly.

I’m down for virtually all class restrictions to be done with now.

I, and a ton of friends, want Blizzard to double down on Void ideas for Void Elves, so absolutely to this one.

I have a few of my own.

  • Bring back full character sheets.
  • Make stats more impactful.
  • Make each level an event again (with talents coming back, this may be happening).
  • More world quests with multiple steps / layers.
  • Add in WAY more dynamic events (like Rift, ESO or FFXIV).

i miss agility giving crit (mop bear tank with 73% crit go brrrrr)

would be nice to remove alot of off stats and put them back into prime stats make it more like warcraft 3 strength increased attack power based on your hero or intelect does same with agility.

We need Ion to give his thoughts on pineapple on pizza, and ketchup on everything. Oh, and why the number of buns in pack of hot dog buns doesn’t match the number of hot dogs in a pack of hot dogs.

Make all Classes and specs viable and extremely hard to play in PvE and PvP.

Idiots will quit.

I can’t wait until he says players don’t need meaningful choice anymore after DF and players come to the forums screaming about they have too many choices.

Like sheep following their love/hate God.
