Huh, i’m guessing it has something to do with what happened weeks ago. 
I remember when the GD bristled with “Wrath killed WoW”, “Game is braindead easy now” and “Those entitled Wrath Babies” threads.
That mythical Golden Age of GD is just that… mythical.

I don’t believe the forums have ever been particularly good, but I think they’ve declined ever since the last forum revamp that added typing notifications, infinite scrolling, and auto-loading replies. Those features have degraded the quality of what little legitimate discourse there was with how it encourages quickfire, IM-style snarky quips instead of thought-out posts.

There was a troll that used to post about the weather. He’d make these sometimes long posts all about the weather.
He was interesting. Haven’t seen him around in a long, long time.

You are probably right. But this is not a GD problem, it’s a global problem. No humour whatsoever. Every attempt at humour is promptly curbed with “extreme prejudice”.
I mostly blame social media, and in particular Twitter, for that.

That’ll change eventually, it already is but yeah, I agree. I tell a joke and get myself suspended for a time because someone didn’t understand.
The sad thing is it was a lame joke. Like one of those you could tell a child. Oh well, whatcha gonna do.

And thank Heavens that you are not a child trying to joke. They would diagnose you with one of those bogus syndromes invented by shrinks to pump even more money, and you would be bombed with (ostensibly legal) drugs.

Good point. It’s gotta suck to be a kid these days. Last couple generations seems it just gets worse, especially for the kids.

I remember thinking how jacked up life was getting when they replaced all the fruit bearing trees in cities and towns with those trees that just produce blossoms and nothing else.
Some kids families are so poor they needed those fruit trees. That was a whack thing to do but just one in so very many.
It is turning around though. Not fast enough for me but it is.

Even though I’ve only been playing since Legion was released, I miss when the forums was much happier, all the joke posts and other fun posts were what made this forum for me.
Now, ever since Shadowlands, it seems to be filled by a majority of elitists and crybabies who nitpick every aspect of the game, I’m told these guys have been around since Burning Crusade’s release, but it’s like they took over our of nowhere.
I just wish the forums were more happy and silly, just like they used to be in my time and before.

I honestly don’t ever remember this on GD. Realm and class forums, yes. GD, never.
yep it was nice when the 1st was fine and there were no sissies in control. The U.S.A. was kinda cool for a long time then came the pussies.
