I got a BoE the other day from the Scrap Heap dog that people usually skip.
It’s funny, some people were complaining like “let’s skip it BoEs don’t matter this late in the tier” - complaining as we pulled and killed it.
Wouldn’t you know it, a BoE dropped for me! And I sold it for 180k gold! I even undercut the next prices by 50k just to offload it.
I have been known to buy BoE’s in my day - like I was just a few ilvls off a requirement, I tried everything I could, and one stubborn slot can be replaced by a BoE…. Then I might cave and buy a BoE.

The lot of you need to stop pretending also that you actually do content levels that the stat differences matter. Until you are in double digit keys and have mythic track items in your vault, you should be picking items that are strictly a higher ilvl than what you have.
Plus there are points where you are “overcapped” on a stat and losing value by having more. I’m probably way past that part myself even since last I recall literally every piece I’m wearing is a crit/vers piece save for my trinkets. I just have a general disdain for tanks and mastery specifically since I find mastery, as a stat, incredibly dull since nearly every spec is “just do more numbers thematic with your spec” and I play tanks not to be unbreakable walls of sheer defense but preferably as a brawler/bruiser archtype (hits you back hard and is otherwise not going down before you are).
So if you manage to pickup a BOE that is 10-20+ ilvls higher with no likely other upgrade in sight…just equip the dumb piece and move on. Plus I imagine these pieces will also be catalyzed-eligible too so if you get one you can still turn it to tier if needed.

This is a good thing, actually, and it’s definitely NOT “Titanforge Lite.”
BoEs that are Vers>Mastery (particularly if they’re mail) tend to be dead on arrival.

Where’s the titanforging? This is no different than the random world drop items that are “of the feverflare” or “of the quickblade”. They have always existed.
Considering the WTS spam in the LFG, I don’t think they care.
