They should unlock flying in Zerith Mortis for everyone

The zone was clearly not designed for ground.

Players dynamic flying will get there and kill the boss before a ground person gets anywhere close to it.

It’s inevitable that they will give SL flying, just like with BFA flying despite those opposed to it for some odd reason.

Maybe, but then you’ll have to wait.
I think it’s totally fine to have to earn it without timegating and that is my logic.

I don’t have to wait. I already have it.

I’m thinking about the other players, as it was bad enough racing against regular flying mounts. Dynamic pretty much means that new players won’t be able to get the 10 unique rare kills in, or it will take an insane amount of time for an old zone. That doesn’t sound good in my book.

And the “you” I was using was toward players that would need to earn it.
It’s totally not on the same level as grinding old pathfinders and having to grind reps for weeks. They can easily do this one.

They removed it from leveling content, not from end game content. Legion’s pathfinder was removed but you still can’t fly in argus for example.

But who knows, maybe they’ll remove pathfinder from BFA and Shadowlands as well.

You can’t fly in Argus at ALL, there is no way to fly in Argus. There is no way to unlock flying in Argus as it does not exist.

Suramar is a endgame zone too, so is broken shore. You can fly in both these places because! DING DING the achievement that locked flying behind all legion zones isn’t needed anymore.

ZM is a SHADOWLANDS zone, they have not made it where you can fly in SHADOWLANDS zones without needing a ACHIEVEMENT still.

This has nothing to do with endgame zones, it has to do with them not doing shadowlands.

they are already moving this from old zones which means shadowlands (a old zone now) should have it removed too

It most likely will next xpack, but it needs removed sooner rather then later.

Honestly, once a new expansion drops, flying in all previous expansions should be unlocked regardless. The fact that Blizz seems to like to drag their feet just gives off the vibe they are still bitter over not being able to remove it during WoD.

Yeah I realized that after hitting post. There’s no end game content that had flying in any of the expansion that had their pathfi der removed. So using it as some kind of gotcha doesn’t really work, on either side.

Like I said though, they’ll likely remove them at some point.

I am twitching right now from this conclusion you’ve come too.

But I nevertheless I agree. They’re system is most likely going to stay like this until it’s removed from Dragonflight. As they are changing back to getting flying at max level in some way.

They can’t admit they were wrong with flying, they have to pretend it’s a very slow and hard processes they’re doing of their own free wil that has nothing to do with them making this issue to start with.

(oh also that is not true, as BFA also had end game zones with flying that was removed, many old end game zones with flying had it removed if you could fly there, the only ones left out besides SL is zones you can’t fly in at all)

Your mind is already made on that, you will always default to “they’re doing it out of spite” and don’t even think about the possibility of why. Did it ever come to mind that letting brand new players fly while leveling (assuming BFA pathfinder is removed) and then suddenly when they get to the new expansion, they can’t anymore, is not such a great idea?

Actually thinking about it some more, with how Dragonflight panned out. They will not remove the current pathfinders but will let you use dynamic flying there when it’s unlocked everywhere.

Here’s the issue with that. By the time I get done earning flight in shadowlands, the expansion will be over. I know how many months it took me on my old account as a latecomer. So you have saved me from ever having to do Dragonflight content. So it’s a win win situation, right?

This isn’t an assumption. They removed it.

I mean I have dealt with this flying issue since WOD, and watched blizzard get feed back on it and make it worse to the point my friends and guild left the game.

BFA pathfinder is already removed, it’s been removed from all xpacks but shadowlands. I’m not fighting for not flying in a new zone I am flighting for all zones we can fly in with a achievement, be flyable regardless if you have it or not.

I want our old system back where you can’t fly while leveling in the newest xpack until max level, then you buy it or earn it. Which was a system that worked since TBC

Yes they are doing it out of spite, They broke something that worked fine for years, told people even when we had the lowest player point it was our fault and dug their heels into the ground on this issue for YEARS, coming up with new ways to make it easier on us (like hearthstone’s for new cities, flight whistles and teleporting items you buy)

only to SLOWLYYYY go back to the old system but releasing it as if it’s their idea and not their fault.

Ah so they did. That’s dumb.

Was mostly talking about Zereth Mortis one, which doesn’t require all Shadowlands rep and isn’t as heavily timegated.

If old pathfinders weren’t heavily timegated I would be fine with keeping them and I think it would be fair.

But like you said, old pathfinders will take weeks of rep grind.

Woudn’t want to take credit over Blizzard xd

You want people to farm for hours in outdated content to earn flying there? in a zone that is years old? only to turn around have to do this for every old xpack zone forever?

No, but with dynamic coming everywhere and looking like their default flying type until you unlock the old way, I think they would have waited.

Okay I greatly misunderstand. Honestly I don’t know. Since change to flying was made at the start of dragonflight and I’m not sure what they’re planning with details on dragonriding in old zones.

It is old content and will be just as empty then, as it is now. And since there’s really no point in going back, why is this such an issue for YOU?

But it is sweet you care so much for new players…

This. It’s old irrelevant content. Who cares. Regardless of anyones opinion of pathfinder and whether or not it’s good for the game, the moment that a new expansion comes out, the old irrelevant expansion should have any important unlocks like flying automatically unlocked.
