Sure, but it didn’t exist then. There were practical reasons why people hated the zombie event.
The most laughable part about the zombie invasion, though, was that people (maybe you?) were fooled into thinking that what they did actually mattered, when it didn’t.
You could go to a deserted city, like Thunder Bluff, and watch the infected crates plague the guards, who would then turn into zombies and infest the town. No player involvement required.
But a lot of people got off on “oh I was so cool I infected lots of people”. No you didn’t. The event was on auto-pilot. Your “participation” was totally irrelevant.
But it sure fooled a lot of people into thinking they were important, that’s for sure.
Whole point is to suspend your disbelief sometimes and just enjoy it for what it is. Specially when short term, one of a kind scenarios like this happen.
I’ll admit that’s easier to do as a teen than now though.
It is the ultimate blast from the past. I squealed like a little girl I was so excited when I had 80 zombies jump me! I flought as long and hard as I could! It was fantastic!
I doubt it, people who queue for stuff they do will be largely unaffected, since there’s no need to actually travel in the world anymore for them. Only people who do Mythic+ and Normal and up raiding will be affected.
If they put infected crates in battlegrounds, arenas, and queued dungeons, that would be a different story.
