I am pretty happy about it. And with the Legion key implementations. Overtuned isn’t always a bad thing. It actually suggests that live content is kind of undertuned.
If you really want to know who is mad it’s the “gimme” people. The people that want everything. Let me clarify that. It’s not that these people are entitled (they’re really not). It’s more so that they on some level feel like they deserve a realistic chance at everything or rather that if they can’t achieve something, they want that denial to be on their terms not the game’s terms.
Personally, I will likely not be doing the Mage Tower as much as that book mount is a big want. And I’m ok with that Doesn’t make it bad content for being slightly overtuned. Besides the whole point of mage tower was to demand perfection to achieve it. If it demanded anything less it would just be another “do X activity to collect Y reward” which just wouldn’t be fun.
I am happy I got my werebear back then, as well as 28 other appearances. I will be happier if I can get the felbear, but no biggie if I can’t (I’m seeing the seams of the encounter, it’s doable, still working on Variss).
But I freakin’ called it, for years. This was not just a scaling numbers issue, the specs are very different. It would either be too hard or a cakewalk.
I’ve explained that at length in a couple of posts throughout the conversation.
I’m not disingenuous, and it’s unkind of you to accuse me of it. I asked an honest question. Several people have taken the trouble of answering, and several have engaged with the topic.
Negativity on the forums got under my skin this evening/early morning, so I posted. It’s not disingenuous simply because you view it differently than I do.
I’m doing everything that can be done to burn down those mobs, but they have an excessive amount of health. The challenges aren’t tuned the same for everyone. People are completing the easier ones and then coming on here and giving others a hard time about it.
Blizzard’s most serious problem is that they’ve cultivated a playerbase that wants everything handed to them on a silver platter, through years of nerfs and catch-up give-aways.
If it can’t be done in 20 minutes, people come to the forums and rage. It’s just ridiculous, at this point.
This is the part that WoW has utterly failed at since Legion imo. Some part of it has to do with the story itself, more of it has to do with the delivery of the actual quest content (there’s way to much tell instead of show) with us feeling more like passengers than participants. And even beyond that, there’s a whole lot less incentive for the little quirky bits that used to be in game.
If WoW returned to focusing on getting this right then even if the challenging parts of the game fell flat they’d get majority of their audience back.
Yes you are. You are ignoring every single point everyone has made in over two dozen threads on this subject. And here you are admitting it is overturned and messed up, then disingenuously asking “why can’t every just be happy about it”.
You even admit you haven’t even tried it.
That is the classic, textbook definition of disingenuous.
But you refuse to get the proper gear and enchants to help complete it. This is why you cant kill the mobs quick enough, you dont have the proper gear on to do it. You gotta put the work and time in to prepare yourself for challenging content. If you refuse to do it then you won’t get the rewards…simple as that.
Youd save yourself a lot of time if you just put in a slight bit of work instead of being stubborn about it. Adjust your strategy instead of complaining to blizzard to adjust their game to suit you.
Needs a flat 10% boss health reduction across-the-board to account to the total lack of legendaries/borrowed power. Maybe buff the “allied” NPC health a bit as well.
You shouldn’t have to be in BiS gear or be a top 1%er to complete it.
I remember in Legion, I would take pauses from mage tower since it was so frustrating. Eventually beat it…but it wasn’t in the first week. I had to shift talents and get in the habit of using abilities in ways I hadn’t before.
TBH, this is a little harder without certain legendaries like Prydaz. But it doesn’t seem that different to me. Was frustrating then, similarly frustrating now. The reward isn’t quite as nice though, I feel that.
I will say…covenant abilities not working in mage tower actually does feel awful. I play an arcane mage which entirely works around using radiant spark as kyrian…To not have that completely messes up my rotation. The challenge is actually still totally doable since it’s less about zerg damage and more about using tools that we still have in a long grindy cleave fight…
But still. It just feels really awkward. This is more of a comment on the impact of borrowed power I suppose than an actual comment on the difficulty of the mage tower
This isnt required actually. Just do a bit of research on which gear/enchants are good for your spec to complete this, the majority of the “good” gear is extremely fast and easy to get. You dont need borrowed power to beat this when theres so many OP items to help out with these challenges that make it much easier.
I mean…I used heirloom trinkets to beat this for gods sake… lol.
No, the definition of disingenuous is someone who isn’t telling the complete truth. I was pretty clear and completely honest about my post.
I don’t get why so many people on this forum are totally miserable about a thing they wanted. It’s been out for less than 3 days–LESS THAN 3 DAYS. It’s not supposed to be a face-wipe. It’s supposed to be a challenge mode, and people can’t even work on it for a week before coming here and totally railing against something they begged for on these same forums for years.
So I posted my frustration and desire to talk that out.
Again. It’s unkind to accuse people of being disingenuous. I’m not dishonest for finding this ridiculous.
