SoM forums are full of whining.
GD is full of whining.
Over in Classic, they’ve given us a fresh server season with MANY features that were begged for, and people are just non-stop complaining.
Here in retail, they gave us elf customizations that were asked for for years, and people just non-stop complain about it.
People asked for the Mage Tower to come back (“make it really hard” “make it exclusive” “but just let us have a chance at it”). Over and over again. And it’s non-stop complaining.
I’m just on the forums at 4am my time, and I came down here for a snack and a cup of tea, and everyone is just miserable.
I know you wont like this, but theres a high chance youre not as good as you think you are, and theres a high chance youre below average if you feel like this is too hard. Do some research, get the proper gear/enchants, figure out the proper strategy, it will make a huge difference. Sometimes the timing of pushing phases alone make a world of a difference.
I had a hard time with it at first, but then I did a bit of research and found that the PVP weapons from MoP were good because they gave bonus strength on them, I also found out that the crusader enchant was really good for this, I also used the heirloom trinkets…yes heirloom trinkets. These small changes increased my DPS by like 300-400 and they were extremely easy to do. Those MoP PVP weapons cost me only 10 PVP marks. I spent about maybe 5k gold in consumables, and I didnt even end up using all of them.
Ill tell you why, Im all for it being a limited thing, but for one I would rather collect Legionfall Supplies, to open it up again in a weeks time versus 6 months to a year. Thats why.
I have the mechanics down just fine. The fight just takes too long because the boss has an excessive amount of health. We shouldn’t have to farm up cheese sets.
You also hopefully realize that not every spec is remotely comparable to other specs, right? That user in question, a warlock, has a much more difficult time versus a fury warrior or an ele sham for example. People are upset that things aren’t balanced across the board, and for Affliction specifically the boss in the PTR went from around 74k hp to over 200k hp now on live.
Oh, lord no. They’re complaining about server population, PvP gear, class balance, mage boosting, dungeon release times…on and on and on.
Which is so funny to me b/c the people I’m playing with over in SoM are really enjoying it, and our server (which is one of the ones bemoaned as “dead”) has huge, friendly, active guilds on it and a massive Hardcore population.
So…I mean, the complaining does not align with ingame experience on the SoM side.
Lol its a challenge mode, and youre complaining about it taking a long time, and not wanting to put any work in to get proper gear for it. It. Is. A. Challenge. Mode. You gotta put work in for a challenge mode. This isnt LFR.
The fact that you call them cheese sets just goes to show you know that this is cheeseable, so that just goes to show you know it isnt as hard as youre claiming it is…
Just because something has been completed doesn’t mean that it isn’t overturned. They are not mutually exclusive. I would know this bc I have completed a challenge already. But if you’ve done the full thing and compared it to legion and even comparable TWing the casts are overturned numerically. They need to be tuned down just a little for it to be 1: a better experience and 2: more mechanics and class mastery heavy which the original challenge was meant to evoke.
Not just Mage Tower, either. We keep hearing people saying they want “challenging solo content”. But EVERY time challenging solo content is added to the game, the complaints are overwhelming (Mage Tower, Horrific Visions, The Maw, Torghast, Torghast 9.1, and now Mage Tower again).
Moving forward, I hope we can all recognize that anyone asking for “challenging solo content” doesn’t actually mean it. Because they don’t.
That’s how the originals were. The only mitigating factor was post-launch tier sets and legendaries. Personally I think they should let us use our old legendary effects, but let’s not pretend the Mage Tower challenges were face roll content throughout their life span.
I commented on someone saying that we didnt get a challenge mode that we could work at and overcome, saying that it is a challenge mode that we could work at and overcome…but others have worked at it and overcome it. Yet youre trying to argue with me telling me that isnt what we got, when we did get exactly that.
I like the souls games as those are balanced and still challenging without artificial walls straight out of the gate. These cannot all be said that they’re balanced and fair if the healing NPCs are getting one shot randomly, the inflated health pools on various casters (affliction vs frost, both kite and frost wins on the hp by far), or RNG mechanics for tanks.
Personally i want ENGAGING solo content. Not necessarily challenging in that it would be a frustration. I dont mind a long questchain of stuff. I do mind “go here, do x” repeat for 20 days.
