They gave life-related night elves a link to Shadowlands

I’m rewatching the keynote to find the bit about not saving everyone and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON CHEERED FOR DRAKA.

Cripes. That means more Sadfang cinematics, doesn’t it?

easy the breaking of the system happened after he died, when sylvanas died, that just trigged the process that would lead to the breaking

I think for the people who might care the first response was ‘Huh?’.

I’m hard of hearing so I didn’t hear him say mother of thrall and I had no idea who Draka was.

-complains that the horde doesnt have a roster anymore
-admits that any time a story involves a horde character is usually ends in their death
-complains that there are not enough horde characters involved in the story of shadowlands

Are you trying to get the rest of our cast killed?

Crowd roared (tho not as loudly as for Uther) when Kael’thas was mentioned.

Why Draka?!

No, I’m trying to allow our characters to get development in a non faction storyline that strongly relates to the majority of their cultures. The Alliance has such a massively developed, powerful cast in no small part because they are allowed the stardom in these sort of “Big Bad” expansions. The Horde was all but irrelevant in the last one … they honestly could have just written us out.

I just want Blizz to allow the Horde to develop and grow. Instead, they just keep tearing it down with reckless abandon; and then trying to hide from the destruction they’ve wrought with the next shiny Alliance focused story. But … apparently that’s too much to ask for…

unless shadowlands is going to somehow bring a whole bunch of dead important horde heroes back into the fold, im sorry to say the horde is done for permanently. they have had over a decade to do develop horde characters… Blizzard will never develop the horde to match the alliance. The alliance has all of the important characters in the universe.

The horde is now filled with no named nobodies. And that is if they are lucky. The unfortunate are taken over by alliance (looks at the forsaken)

Guess I’ll be that guy.

The expansion was just announced and the only big name dead characters dropped were Uther the Lightbringer, and Kael’thas Sunstrider. We were told Draka was going to be there as well. I’m counting two Horde characters to one Alliance character. Granted this depends on one’s definition of what is and isn’t a Horde/Alliance character.

I’ll agree that Bastion and Ardenweald look 100% like Alliance zones, but I feel like the other two are 100% Horde thematic zones.

Thought they announced cenarious? Granted, this one kinda confused me as i thought he was alive at the end of EN.

They mentioned that when he was killed in WC3 that he went to Ardenweald, but I don’t know if they’ve mentioned him being there again. Granted I’ve seen people saying that they said Tyrande would be in Ardenweald. Not sure where that came from. I mean, she’s not even dead.

The one thing I will say for sure, is that Draka feels like a very weird option for Maldraxxus. I kind of wish they went with Garrosh.

we arent the only living people going to the shadowlands, we go there with other heroes of azeroth. and once we learn how to leave the maw and come back, we save them and after that, I believe they are free to wonder around

From what ive heard, Maldraxxus is less the “death realm” than the “survival of the fittest” realm, which does fit orcs. Granted its populated by necromancers…which actually doesnt make a lot of sense as necromancy is usually the exact opposite of the survival of the fittest theme.

How exactly are Maldraxxus and Revendreath Horde themed zones? At best they are Forsaken and BE themed zones respectively, but that might be pushing it. On top of this, those two Horde themed zones are essentially the places you don’t want to go. While the places you do want to go essentially promise you get the chance to be reborn as a Human looking blue angel; or maybe a Human or Elf in the real world.

Ah, thanks. I missed that. So who from the living is going to the other zones? I’m guessing if Draka is in Maldraxxus that means Thrall is heading there. Maybe after the lukewarm reaction they’ll change Draka to Garrosh. Don’t have to change Thrall going that way.

dunno tyrande is the only one they mentioned so far

Cenarius and Tyrande.

Forsaken and blood elves are Horde races though, so… Horde themed zones.

And why wouldn’t you want to go to Maldraxxus? Especially if you’re Horde. If you look at the nature of the four zones, I would think most of the Horde would want to go there, at least the Orcs. It’s the military might of the Shadowlands, and it sounds like the Horde ideal afterlife.

Bastion is a place where those who feel inclined to serve, not lead or rule, end up. Doesn’t really strike me as a Horde place. Ardenweald is a place of rebirth, which admittedly sounds kind of nice. Either way, why would an orc, troll, tauren, etc… want to be reborn as a blue human with wings, or a goat-elf?

They arent dead lol
