They can change the layout, and they can try to manufacture an echo chamber all they want, but the truth is that we still have the following and it’s November:
GCD change
Leveling bottlenecks
Ability prune/broken specs
Class imbalance
Azerite trait imbalance
Azerite level grind and unlocks
Secondary stat nerf making game seem clunky
No fullscreen exclusive mode for DX11 users
Unrewarding world quests
Unrewarding Islands
Horrible RNG based gearing and collection
A Mythic+ system that brutally penalizes failure and has divided the community
No flying
Faction imbalance
Bad story and character development
This game is the worst expansion in WoW’s history. At least WoD had good rewards to its players for playing. BfA has practically nothing to offer nonmythic raiders. It’s disgusting and sad what has been done to this game.
The primary criticism of the game occurs in the forums. By changing the forums to silence dissent, they indirectly discourage criticism. But keep pretending this forum “update” isn’t a giant smokescreen to distract from the issues.
I unsubbed the other week, I have about 4 days left. This expansion is a disaster. I’d honestly stick around if they considered bringing back unique class tier sets but they probably won’t. And I’m not going to stick around waiting for Kul Tirans and Zandalari. That stuff should already be out by now.
Blizzcon was the other reason I’m unsubbing. I’ve never seen a company so disconnected from their fanbase. And not only are they disconnected, they are flat out arrogant towards their loyal fanbase. Shame on bIizz.
Plenty of people have been criticizing them for quite some time now on the other games forums. The only difference now is you need to be respectful and constructive if you wish to voice your negative feelings towards the game.
Think I’ve seen you post quite often in the old forums for nearly a year and most if not all of it has been negative. So I seriously hope you’re still somewhat enjoying the game despite all the time you spend here voicing concerns.
Most people move on in that time frame. So I gotta give it to you for your willingness to power through and continue to support them despite everything they turn out being a disappointment.
Well I actually care about the future of WoW so my reaction will be negative until they resolve the horrible issues with the game. I had no complaints about Legion until the Broken Chore (except for the existence of soul effigy, which was horrible design, and the RNG of legendaries).
I’m not sure how they’re silencing dissent. I’ve read through a couple of dozen threads this morning and things are pretty much just like it always has been.
You’ve got quite a list in the OP, why not pick one or two of them and start a discussion on them? Or join an existing discussion on those topics?
Complaining about a change in forum software (which has been underway for over a year) isn’t going to make substantive changes in the things you listed.
Again, you show up in green text doing damage control. You know the new forum design discourages dissent. Green text corporate kneepad benefactors realize that the response to BfA is overwhelmingly negative, and of course, now they will use “trust users”, like/flag, and other systems to silence criticism.
And I have picked one or two of them. It has been brought up over and over, but nobody does anything about it.
I would point to the 24 hour lock on threads people flag on mass… now if blizzard addresses it then it isn’t a issue but if they more or less wash their hands and walk away from it then yeah I can see the concern.
It’s a new tool and we’re not used to it yet. If it becomes an issue, they’ll revisit it. I think they’ll spend some time “educating” those that try to shut down dissent in this manner first, though.
I am still playing the game, but a lot of these issues still need to be addressed, the biggest ones for me personally are …
GCD change
Ability prune/broken specs
Class imbalance
Azerite trait imbalance
Azerite level grind and unlocks
Secondary stat nerf making game seem clunky
No fullscreen exclusive mode for DX11 users
Unrewarding world quests
Bad story and character development
Some of these will be fixed in 8.1 and flying will be added later
They might… I am just skeptical of them doing so given their track record. Still you wanted a example it seems kind of weird to ask for one if you knew about it.
If it is something people can abuse or not isn’t something we can say for a couple weeks. Till then why handwave it away?
The new forum encourages communication. Learn to communicate in a positive and constructive manner and your problem is solved.
For example “Green text corporate kneepad benefactors” was a phrase entirely unneeded or required to make your point. It was insulting and hurtful and you used it for exactly that purpose, and to try and look edgy and one of the cool kids.
There is a difference between dissent and dissonance.
Yeah. Just like how Dictators “educate” the population. The old Blizzard would never have released BfA in its state, and their forums used to be relatively free. The new state of the forums is a sign of things to come – a world of grey – a realm of conformity and kneepad sales.
It does not. As you and many other threads prove that wrong.
I don’t think you quite understand how this works.
Like has always been a thing. Flagging is a reporting system. You click flag then select what thread/person broke rule wise. Which we always have.

other systems to silence criticism.
Like what?
So was his reply suggesting I make specific topics on issues that have already been discussed to death and have hundreds of replies. His post was 100% damage control and resembled an NPC script response.
