Neckbeards aren’t great with nuance.
Don’t worry as it’ll all make sense once we travel to Azeroth #123 and meet up with Hogger the Supreme after a quick time travel to witness how Mt Hyjal really came to be.
This one still boggles my mind. 2 expansions worth of material relegated to being patch content for a single expansion. Just… why?
The amount of Shocked Pikachu Face on people who seemed to miss the train on Odyn being Odyn is pretty great.
What was ever amazing about the Titans? We know nothing but the most vague tidbits. It was the mystery about them that was interesting - the more we knew, the lesser the appeal.
i don think the Titans are evil but Azorath is a Titan , a baby titan. When she becomes a big titan what do you think will happen to Azaroth . Its like looking at a bug on the ground yeah i try not to step on it but if I do i don’t give it much thought. The elder ones are like bigger titans and i am not sure that they are all that more powerful. Just a different set of goal. Lets be honest there is nothing a bug or 20 bugs with big stingers could ever do to a titan without a lot of plot armor. they are not evil simply motivated by other things. Fortunate for us humans are the end all be all on our world (outside of God) and we don’t need to worry about a Titan coming by an accidentally stepping on us or reconfiguring us for its own purpose which it might think was a good thing.
It would make my year if you would rewrite this in iambic pentameter.
Garona was also half human
Joke’s on OP, Warcraft franchise already collapsed. WC3 sold about 50 copies to mount collectors, there’s maybe 3k concurrent users online outside of US east peak hours, and WoW Twitch views are 100% bot. You go in a WoW stream with 5k viewers and the chat rolling like a 12 viewer channel in any other game. We’re playing in one of them fake western movie towns that are just plywood props.
hey
i like this post
The First Ones are basically the opposite of the antagonist problem in WoW. Instead of “I was a bad guy because there’s a worse bad guy coming” it’s “I am your creator but these guys are my creator”
It hasn’t happened nearly as much as the bad guy problem but mark my words, as soon as Blizzard explains away the mystery of the First Ones there will suddenly be the existence of the Firster Ones, and then the Firstest ones, and then the Even More Firstest Ones, etc
I mean, retconning and “building/extending new lore” are basically the same thing. All retconning is is new information resulting in a different interpretation of the original events. No, the new info isn’t directly changing what came before, but it’s still a retcon, if we use official definitions.
Basically just depends if you like it or not if you call it a retcon (negative connotation) or call it “building upon existing lore”.
One of those kinda silly words tbh.
Like “casual” on these forums.
Metzen-era lore was just him lumping together Lovecraft, Greek Mythology, and Norse Mythology, barely changing the names, and going “VOILA!”
At least with MMORPGs the lore can change and sway.
Hell didn’t they have a machine that could rewrite all life on the planet just lying around some place? The titans have never really cared about us, we are just some bugs living on a future titan.
which one. argus part 2 was the best one.
You know…I died on purpose. because the jailor said you would bring me a new body like you did right now for hooking him up. so thank you.
Argus…are you high, stupid or that just that codependent on the jailor? Or all 3? that is what I wanted to say.
Dang, troll got me to laugh XD
That’s not how you spell DnD and Warhammer.
Ahhh there it is.
Yep, we have to stop Starboy from activating it and then use it to fricassee ol Nzoth
lol they’re going nuts.
I mean, technically this isn’t rewriting the lore.
This is just filling in some things we didn’t know. Every bit of Titan knowledge we have has always been from a Titan’s point of view - obviously they’re going to paint the titans and keepers as benevolent creatures.
But we’ve seen how bad some of the keepers are in Legion, when we learned Odyn not only kidnapped Helya, but punished her by trapping her in Helheim when she refused to obey him mindlessly. Then had the audacity to send us to “kill” her.
Honestly, as annoying as it is that they are “changing” it - it’s the first time the Old God/Titan lore has actually intrigued me in a long time.
Lol who reads the books? I mean, I own hundreds and hundreds of hardbacked publications… but WoW books? Lol… no.
The new titan lore is an in-game book, not a real life book.
Wowhead covered it if you want to be spoiled on it:
