They almost certainly can't ever give us mage tower weapon appearances ever again for legal reasons

They said to everybody that the apperances were never coming back, and specifically used that FOMO as a way of increasing short term sub counts and profits at the end of Legion. It harmed the game in the long run but upped their quarterly figures. Yay capitalism.

And since they said it, they’re painting a big lawsuit shaped target on their back if they ever renege on it. Yeah they would be stupid lawsuits, but they’d definitely happen, who wouldn’t sue a big company for a huge payout if given an easy chance?

However, as we saw with the fel colored werebear, they can give us extremely similar but technically different appearances.

Just sayin

The point you are trying to make falls flat on its face since they’ve added previous FOMO items to the Trading Post and the BMAH. And those are only two examples.

There is no legal documentation or contract binding involved.

Yes. Which is what people should be asking for. But your above theory is nonsensical, at best.

The only way a lawsuit could happen is if they brought back something that was only obtainable via some type of televised/internet promotion, such as the Warlords Deathwheel.

Are the legal reasons in the room with us right now?

Everything can and should come back.

Have they ever added something they said will never be available again? Or only things they said may never be available again?

The wording matters

Yep. That is the only one that is legally binding as far as I’m aware.

Oral contracts are legally binding

They never said they’d never be available again. They said “limited time” for that time period. They said they don’t want to bring them back due to the prestige they hold (or something like that), but there is no legally binding wording claiming “no, we will never ever again be legally allowed to put these into the game.”

There’s no such thing for these weapons.

I would love to see how that would play out. I expect an extremely exacerbated judge.

Stands up

“OP is leading, your honor!”

(P.s: I love court room RP where everyone is a lawyer.)

No lawyer would even waste their time, as it would make them the laughing stock of their firm.

I’ve seen some very public and very bad legal representatives in recent years. You never know.

not a company simply saying “this isn’t coming back.” No contract was made, they are not obligated to stick to their word.

Yeah, Classic

Technically, they only ever said Classic as it existed would never come back, they had gotten rid of the servers or something like that. Todays Classic is not the same as Vanilla, as I understand it. Of course, I may be wrong lol.

They will bring anything and everything back if they get desperate enough for more money.

Sorry, you have no idea what you are talking about. No lawsuit can ever be won about this if they came back.

I remember the big Wall of No and blizzard stating that they had no intention of opening up classic servers or TBC servers. I don’t recall the specifics you mention, but it definitely could have been there.

I’m just here to watch the forums dabble in contract law; this should be just about the most entertaining thing ever.
