These rep grinds are in-freaking-furiating

I’m tired of this. I’m tired of what should be universally available gameplay elements, like FLIGHT and PLAYABLE RACES, being locked behind rep grinds that are a lot of useless “hurry up and wait” timegating. I really dislike Mechagon. It’s too compact and too crowded and the rep grind there is particularly egregious. Not to mention its a damned junkyard, and not a huge, clockwork Gnomeregan-style area like it should have been.

Nazjatar is a little better, but navigating it is a mess.

Couldn’t agree more. I gave up on it.

Sick of everything being so gated.

There are people that don’t have flying yet? Did he it come out like 5-6 months ago?

Part 2 only needs reveared

I’ve not been playing. Largely because the rep grinds burn me out.

If they would just put AR / Flying on the cash shop, I’d be more than happy to buy it and not have to worry.

The rep grind for the little robognomes is pretty easy actually. Naz is a pain but worth is in the long run.

God no! Actually play the game and earn your rewards. Want CE on the cash shop too? How about famed slayer?

Are you really shocked that there are people taking a break from this disaster of an expansion?

Procrastination never ends well
Just get it over with
Load up some Netflix movies and knock it out as soon as the content is released, that’s how I roll.

No I’m just surprised they didn’t get reveared and come back knowing what needs to be done to get it then complain.

Tortolian seeker rep has no natural way of gaining rep except contracts and their wqs, no natural storyline. While the mechagon and nazjatar revered rep can be done in 13 days, assuming you go out of your way to do 2-4 tortolian seeker rep quests every two days, that’s like 175 rep each at 350-700 rep per 2 days if you seek them out for 500 rep a day actively seeking, or near 0 if not doing except waiting for emmisaries (which are rare)

Now assuming you need to go from neutral to revered with the Tortolian seekers, you will need:
3000 Rep from neutral to friendly
6000 rep from friendly to honored
12000 rep from honored to revered

This will be about 21,000 rep from neutral to revered, Now assuming, lets be generous and say you get a tortolian seeker rep once every 8 days (Although they seem rarer than the others). Lets say that’ll add a extra 1.5k rep, or 200 rep a day.

Now if you only do it passively and wait for emmisaries, Turtle rep will suck and take forever. If you just rely upon emmisaries, and say, get 1.5k rep + 500 rep, that’ll be say, 2k rep per 8 days doing the passive route. That’ll just mean pathfinder for turtles will take 80 days if you just try to wait on emmisaries.

If you meanwhile hunt turtle emisaries every day on all 3-6 continents, that’ll be able to amp you up from say 500-800 rep a day. Lets say you play a month, and get say 3 emmisary quests, that gets you say 6k rep, and then for 15k rep if you hunt and get all 3-4 quests done a day at 500 rep you’ll be time gated a month hunting flying. On the other hand, if you don’t rep hunt turtles or use dubloons, you could be looking at 2-3 months for flying from emmisaries only from scratch vs 13 days with part 1 done. Turtle rep sucks.

Mechagon is one of the best zones they’ve ever done in terms of features.

It is too small though.

Blizzard only locked new races behind grind to waste subscription time. Pls explain why dranei, bf, worgen, goblins, panda were available immediately

Wasn’t turtle rep about when bfa launched well over a year ago?
2-3 no the would put you in like November of last year.

Believe it or not there’s this fresh novel concept of “people buying the game” that causes players to start from scratch. Especially since BFA hit one of it’s first sales out for 30$ a few months ago.

I left way back in like, January, and just came back last month. Had to do both the junker gnome place and Nazjatar. They’re awful. When the zones are made to be intentionally annoying, the reps aren’t fun for many of us.

Frankly my biggest problem with flying is the timegating, and it sounds like that’s the common sentiment. Many of us wouldn’t mind having to do all of this legwork if we could get it a month or two after launch.

Hmmm I think that’s actually what makes it a lot of fun. Everything is extremely accessible which makes for a good experience.

Took 2 weeks of casual 1-1.hours a day. Maybe 2 on weekends.

Seriously, this may not be the game for you. You could try ESO- wait no, they have rep grinds. FF- no. GW2… no. Hmm.

I enjoy pathfinder as it gives many of us a real goal to work towards that has a worthwhile reward at the end of the rainbow.
