There's a Community Council thread trying to bring Warforging back

any examples of thiss?

So… they get a piece that is better, but they’re sad because it isn’t their happy stats? That is the most retarded @#$! ever! If the piece sims, freaking use it and shut up, it is so simple!

Boo hoo, my parses wont be as awsome as someone in the same ilvl who has all the BiS, but that is a silly system for this reason.

So what are you saying, that the genre was not designed to increase the playerbase MMO’s by making players feel like their time was well-spent, but rather has always and only been about making low achievers feel really bad until they quit. Every. Game?

Gonna have to hard disagree with you that making players feel really bad is going to grow your game.

Any
Example
Please.

Masterloot should definitely come back if they have no intention of ever making personal loot trading/rolling easier. Would love a button where I can just say, yeah I don’t need this gear and it’s not an ilvl upgrade, let people roll on it and TELEPORT IT TO THEIR BAG lol instead of making me chase them down

I am a proponent of Warforge/Titanforging myself.

Now of course I would like some restrictions as to how high you can roll a piece of gear, but I do believe it can exist perfectly within WoW, especially if coupled with the Valor system. For example, maybe the highest gear can WF/TF to is 252 (or whatever the Vault loot is in the future) but also can only go about 14 levels up to prevent massive swings. That incentivizes doing 15s to get the best possible loot but you can still get good rolls on lower M+, and even if WF/TF isn’t kind to you the Vault still gives the highest ilvl possible and Valor lets you have deterministic progression.

I do think a lot of the hate in WF/TF is misplaced too. Yea, maybe getting 80 extra ilvls is a bit much but at the same time it does give you that little lottery scratcher chance to get something doing low content. I always look at WF/TF as the bonus and not the item specifically. For example, if I want a Soul Ruby I am going to do +15 ToPs constantly for the highest level I can farm (236) and thats my goal, if I were to get it at 252 that would be a nice bonus but what I was farming for was the base version. When looking at WF/TF I believe players need to get rid of the idea of I am farming for the highest possible and more so I am farming for the highest raids/dungeons drop.

Of course BiS lists can change but generally speaking if I want something like a Soul Ruby I want that specific trinket, or if I want my Tier set in 7.2 I want that specific chest piece. Worrying too much about getting the absolute best is what makes WF/TF a flawed system, the system itself though is just suppose to be a potential bonus that feels nice to get.

I can totally empathize with this statement. At the same time though it does come down to comparing yourself to others on your level and with similar gear. If I had another Shaman get all the great loot in SoD for example well of course hes going to naturally do better, same concept applies to WF/TF albeit on a bigger scale. I would always do my best to remember I need to compare myself based on what I had not what someone else did.

I agree, the loot has to have a deterministic alternative, in this case Valor, to let players not as lucky still reach similar gear levels. That said Valor should remain uncapped so players don’t get “stuck” with upgrading their gear. And yes removing trading restriction.

There also should be a dislike button. Not saying it necessarily tells the whole story but a dislike/like button does give a general idea of community perception towards an idea and if something should change. Dislikes shouldn’t grey the posts out though.

Personally I loved warforging/titanforging and hope they bring it back. Like now at this point nobody really needs any gear, you go into m+ and know there’s basically no chance of getting an upgrade or an item you use. It was also nice If say your BiS trinket or weapon came from one of the last few bosses of the raid but know you won’t kill it on mythic, to at least have a chance of it forging to a higher item level.

I really just don’t like the feeling of feeling like I’m done gearing, especially if there’s still months left in a patch it makes it hard to find reasons to log on. Also keeps m+ more active because there’s at least a reason to run +15s even if you don’t need it for IO.

They would just need to find a better system for it because it was far too RNG and frustrating when you’re sitting there with 0 titanforges in a ton of runs meanwhile your buddy has 2-3 in the same amount

I think the bigger problem is that questionable people are enabled under the “everyone has an opinion” which only plays in Blizzard’s agenda in bringing things back which are unfavorable for the community and into their cards in continuing this destructive game design approach.

233 ilvl gear comes from world content. Thats 6 ilvl lower than heroic raid level loot and 3 ilvl lower that you get for timing a +15 dungeon.

My memory isnt great but I dont remember there being anything like this in wrath which was the peak of wows popularity. lots of that is timing etc too of course so its impossible to separate systems from its success. People who say wow has changed to favor the “elite” etc though are just not remembering things properly. The best gear came from the last raids. which to do you pretty much had to do all the previous raids to gear up since when a new patch dropped it didnt invalidate all previous raids like it does now to help casuals stay caught up

They need to go a step further than warforging

They need to bring back MAX TITANFORGING for all content even timewalking.

Heck they should scale it to old expansion world quests and world bosses.

Once the race to world first is over you should be able to use them in raids too.

I’d be ok with them disabling TITANFORGING for mythic raiding permanently to save the mythic raiders from themselves.

Not enough eve players here lol.

How its CSM works lol. It has the “top 1%” (percent can vary, I am just using the meme lol) pushing their agenda’s. since yeah…when it comes to pushing agenda’s one tends to for many reason like pushing their own lol.

The first error is calling it a “Community Council”.
It isn’t a Council elected by the Community. It is basically a propaganda group Blizzard has selected from the Group of Forum Users who will push forward Blizzard Ideas for the privilege of getting special recognition (Green Text) on the forums.

This is why Blizzard doesn’t allow feedback from anyone other than the “Council” even in the form of a like/dislike button because they know the dislikes would outnumber the likes.

The problem was they destroyed world quest gearing with this removal. So they made 2 things worse. At the same time for no reason.

I’ve tried my best buddy. My post about it keeps going strong though.

because they share ideas you don’t agree with?

I don’t want warforging but titanforging would have me far more interested in playing the game than I am. I think I have done about 3 world quests for gear this expansion because no point. Whereas, the majority of my time was spent doing world quests for gear in both BfA and Legion.

It actually isn’t. I played 3 months and I am done.

I miss titanforging. Bring back titanforging. It gave me a exciting reason to run heroic raid every week.

And doing keys felt rewarding when a titanforged or warforged piece dropped.

I was referring to the gear balance. not the content. Just because you were done in 3 months doesn’t mean others are. As others pointed out gear WQs are pointless and the upgrade system is locked behind M+.

so I am talking about the gear

it doesn’t take more than 3 months to max out that gear in Korthia if you actually play.
