While we’re at it, there needs to be a way to change how my armor and weapon look.
The server AHs are combined, horde and alliance use the same one and there’s no longer a neutral AH.
I would go far enough to say: You should be able to mail anything you want between any of your own characters. I’ve always felt that.
I should note while saying this that I see no reason the server economies should be separate. All it does is screw people over who are on low pop servers. There are already so many ways the servers act like a single server (being able to group cross server and seeing people around you in the world cross server, etc.) that it’s silly to still not allow trading across the servers.
Example: I can’t count the number of times I’m in a dungeon with friends… does everyone have an invis pot? Oh, one guy is missing one. But no, we have to wait while he runs back to a city to buy one because even though I have a stack of twenty, I can’t hand him one due to him being on a different server. There’s no reason to prevent cross server trading at this point… items OR gold.
you can’t be serious
Hm………
I agree with this. There is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to send gold to any of our characters on the same server/connected realm since they share an AH and there is zero effect of anything within the game. Same account, same person playing, I fail to see any logic in not being able to send any of my characters any gold I make on any of them.
Except I do agree about sending them to different servers beyond connected ones. The AH economies are already so problematic on occasion, inputting huge amounts of gold from across the game could cause real issues.
This definitely seems like a post made to troll others.
However, this is how you get gold to your Alts.
- On your rich character go to a mail box.
- Send 100,000 gold to your alt.
- Log off.
- Log on with said Alt.
- Go to a mail box.
- Retrieve gold.
Since no one is really answering you.
If you are talking about the same server, same faction forget about using the auction house.
You must know about the mail box because you have millions. Go to a mailbox on your main, enter your new character’s name in the mail and then put xxx in the subject line or whatever you want and just put 50,000 in the money part and hit send. You will be asked are you sure so make sure you have your own character’s name in there and then hit send again.

Gold cannot and should not be transferred cross server. It messes with server economies. [/quote]
So do server transfers but thats too big brain for most.
There is no way this thread is for real.
You are right – there SHOULD be.
That is why there IS, and has been since 2004. It’s called “in-game mail”.
No applause, please. Next question?
Sorry, but no. Server transfers would never happen as often as people would throw gold at alts if we could mail cross server.
And even now, server transfers aren’t so insanely common that one person’s gold is going to throw an entire economy out of whack.
If OP is willing to pay $10US to transfer 100,000 gold to another character (not sure if it’s cross faction they’re wanting, I’ll cover that in a second), just pay $20US and buy a token that’s worth around 120k - 130k gold currently.
Someone else mentioned Battle Pets for currency transfers and this is what I did to get some cash on an alliance character. When the Gnomeregan Battle Pet Dungeon first came out, the Engineering created mechanical spiders (you had to get Pet Battle Dungeon currency, buy the recipe, get the mats, make the spider via BFA Engineer), I would even use a pet battle stone to make the Mech spider rare, put it in the Battle Pet tab, log on the Alliance (scum) character and crate up the blue spider and sell it on the AH (with appropriate hype in the Auction channel). I sold a ton of those spiders the first week of 8.1 because if you were a battle pet enthusiast, but not an Engineer, you’re only way to get them was via AH.
Other pets that can be crated up can be sold by the opposite faction, but it’s a hit & miss sellers market, and it takes time and/or being online to hype the pet. Getting crated pets from Holiday events and selling them in the “off season” can also be lucrative. Just know your market and strike while the iron is hot.
pets is the way to do this.
Speaking as someone who hasn’t transferred millions worth of assets from server to server? What happens if you have a mass migration like what happened on Kil’jaeden?
You just don’t think.
Again… that’s insanely rare. No one is doing this consistently to screw up an economy. Your comparison is way off.
I think logically, thanks.
