"There is no wrong load out, just have fun guys XD" - Ion

If a main feature of a game is limiting a persons fun, they should really consider if that game is still aligned with their desires. Look at Classic WoW. A lot of people tried it and a good portion left it. They decided that version of WoW was not for them. If the covenant feature is limiting peoples fun, they might want to consider if this version of WoW is for them.

Ok? Considering that entire thing can be avoided by just removing the player power aspect of the covenants, it’s pretty dumb to let them leave.

Yeah but classic WoW is a core game that is designed to have permanence to it. Covenants are rentals and thus there is no reason for Blizz to choose to go fight on this hill as we saw with azerite armor at BFA launch.

Blizz be reasonable for a change!

I do not disagree. Player power IMO should never be tied to temporary systems be that Artifacts, Azerite armor, and now Covenants. It always feels bad when you like something from a class and that power is now gone because it has lived out its two year lifespan.

Of course talents don’t matter when you are just running LFR and random dungeons. Ot isn’t exactly lost on people that you opt to post on a classic alt to try and hide your lack of doing anything outside of random queue where decisions have an impact while you spew your garbage.

So by this logic, if a fight requires 50k DPS, and we’ve got someone doing 100k DPS, I’m allowed to go AFK just because we won’t die to enrage right?

I suck at PVE and even I admit that if I am not trying to be at least 80% optimal that I will not go far and they will not carry me over the finish line.

Accountability and responsibility has to be a personal one so you don’t let others down. Show some respect for those that invested time by reciprocating the same thing.

It is a degree of empathy that is very nuanced but not centered on being selfish. But one of being selfless…you are trying to tackle challenging content as a group.

Don’t let your guildmates or friends down by dragging your feet.

The goal posts have been moved from degrading those that do cutting edge min/max theory crafting to now degrading anyone that tries to be as optimal as possible.

This is not good for the game!

We all should strive to improve. Failure and improvement is the greatest joy of playing games in the first place!

Okay and please explain what positive you derive from the covenants being locked?

If it’s any consolation, there will be a lot of people doing their best to avoid eating that crow and those of us who warned them can bombard them with their own posts later on down the line.

That’s funny coming from someone who doesn’t use punctuation, doesn’t capitalize, and uses ‘ur’ and ‘u’.

Meh. They bred a certain style of gameplay and style of playing that will be hard to push change against. Not to mention the ‘delightful’ GROUP that comes with it//

Games should be fun. Human nature won’t allow you too because you want to be the best. Sometimes I wonder if people wanting changes to fit their play style all the time should go play something else if it constantly feels punishing to play this game.

I’ve said it before

So the players so obsessed over locking covenants, having this “meaningful choice” is a reason to not have an excuse to improve. By giving you a wrong choice, it gives them a much higher chance of getting carried through content they had no intention of putting effort into.

i’d say your certainly right in that it would still make people feel like they chose wrong because they’ll have to pick on day one. though if blizz actually went with my idea toward balancing, that would hopefully not be an issue for more than a month with the gaps being closed. of course you could always buff by 3/4% instead and nerf abilities by 1/2% if they get a little too strong from the buff.

i just hate how ion and his team refuse to change in any meaningful way. they refuse to change how they note patch changes, they refuse to change how they handle balance, they refuse to change covenants having player power. heck, it took 4 years just to get pvp vendors back. this team is way too stubborn and will kill their game if they keep being inflexible.

I am sure for the end game you can load anything and be successful when your guild is carrying you through everything.

No but if divided out the fight only requires each person to do X damage… if someone is doing 2x damage that just speeds up the encounter and makes it easier potentially. As long as someone can do the dps required at a minimum it should not be held against them if someone or even everyone else is doing 2x the required damage. Expect people to carry their own weight but do not expect them to be top tier UNLESS that is the type of group you formed.

The biggest problem with the community is the idea don’t waste my time. This results in everyone pushing themselves to fit in and try to be that top 10 player that they’ll more than likely never be, but hey at least they picked the right talents, gear, etc.

The idea there’s one right way to play and only one way is stupid. Ideally with easy to change talents and gear we should have at least a few different ways to play our role.
