There is no gaslighting about LFD

I’m not certain when they removed them but WoW use to have beta testers and employees that play tested the game for feedback? They also use to have a more vibrant forum community before it fell into decay… Those people have that feedback data way back when. They used it to try to remake improvements over time.

So this falls in a ‘design philosophy’ category and I’m sure they looked at current user feedback…

So what does listening to the community mean then?

If people dont post on the forums/reddit/twitter how would they know people dont want LFD.

I get surveys on both my accounts, so thats there only way of saying “they are listening”

I don’t think that point is missed at all.

We all know there have been several surveys that have gone out regarding WotLK and I don’t believe any one of them polled about LFD.

I can get a direct quote from Blizzard that expresses they are keeping LFD because “there are enough people cheering, I think I’m making the right call” yet on every outlet I see the topic being discussed, the overall takeaway is negative.

As I stated before, I don’t know where they got their information. But I do know last night in my guilds raid the topic came up, and while some people were against the removal of LFD, there was about a equal number of people that were for it being removed. Most people, and I would say this is where I fall on the LFD debate, don’t really care either way. But that is also just 25 people.

I think they are just incompetently slow. They where probably looking at feedback from vanilla. Where no, people didnt want RDF for community reasons.

If I had to guess, this is where they got their information to remove LFD from. From time to time during Classic and TBC Classic a post would pop up asking for LFD, and it always got shot down hard.

There is no war in ba-sing-se

They’ve literally, directly, REPEATEDLY, gaslit the player base before. The real hot-take here would be you, looking at the smug codescending tone of the tweets and saying we aren’t getting that treatment again.

OP doenst know wtf he talks about…seriously…fail troll is fail…stop fake news…stop lies…

Even if the majority of people wanted no LFD (which I’m not particularly convinced of in a WotLK environment, where including it would be the no changes chance), the logic behind not including it is somewhat infuriating to say the least.

One group of classic players don’t want it, so rather than just having them not use it, we are banning everyone from using the tool that should be in the game at this point. Go to retail if you want LFD (or private servers for an authentic WotLK).

Also, please just give us all your server transfer money to get off those dead servers now, because you’ll be screwed for this aspect of the game too now. Then we can all just play on mega servers where the community is just as diffuse as if we just put in cross realm LFD.

Most of the vocal no LFD players were talking about not including it for vanilla / TBC classic, where it did not exist at any point in the cycle. Those players also have the option of sticking to those servers and game states if they so choose (and many have).

The population that is highly against LFD shrinks considerably once you get to the expansion that’s supposed to have it. This is a feature that many people I know were specifically waiting for before hopping into the classic series.

Wrong. NOBODY and i mean absolutely NOBODY was asking for lfd to be removed. The most any of those that are against lfd wanted was to see it implemented in its original time frame and not be in at launch.

Look at the little hypocrites now though. Enjoying exactly what they claimed they were so against. Changes by blizzard.

I already lost respect for that #nochanges crowd when they threw a fit about drums in tbc. Now this. They are happy blizz is just taking it upon themselves to change the classic games. Totally against what they said they didnt want.

It was far smaller, which was my point, but:

You can be as wrong as you like but saying “NOBODY” is patently false.

Yes the forum trolls wanted it gone. Woo

To be fair… since you quoted me… I don’t care either way

If they are gonna remove it at least give us the retail tool and not that crap from TBC classic.

Yes, a small vocal group wanted it gone, and Blizzard in their ‘infinite wisdom’ paid attention.

This is why when people say “Don’t take the bait, ignore the troll” on these sorts of things, you CANNOT do that, because Blizzard is too incompetent to not listen.

Personally, I want LFD to be server locked, but I’d prefer to have it cross-server, than not at all.

That would be effort, and not what Blizzard is all about.

when wrath went live there was no such thing as the RDF Automatic teleport to dungeon and Q system.

soooooo how would be getting to 80 harder?

Refardless of those facts, I doubt blizzard will ship wrath without RDF

Nothing about my original post was ment to be taken as a troll.

LFG brings out the worst players. Those that can’t be bothered to make groups as is are the audience you’re getting. The players that can’t be bothered with minor inconveniences, they’re the ones crying for RDF.

Those same players will be the reason for grief if RDF comes back. “I waited over an hour for a dungeon and got a crap group!” “I had a dps queue as a healer for a faster queue!” “I keep getting Occulus and my groups can’t beat it!”

Sorry. I don’t want players in my groups that can’t put the effort to get to the dungeon and be prepared.
