Agreed 100%. And also mage being overtuned and ele being an “anti-caster” caster. Lock just gets pushed out by the other meta specs. Same with boomy and, to a leaser extent, SP.
I think demonology actually has the most hard casting required. If you’re having trouble killing them then you’re probably letting them cast too much or not disrupting their ramps.

I don’t know why some keep mentioning demo tankiness. All lock spec unique defensive mechanics were standarized in DF. All lock specs gain the same health from healthstones, the same shield values from soul leech, the same mitigation through soul link.
Even soul leech which people love to believe has more value as demo due to pets isn’t since it’s hardcapped on both shield per second and max shield value. The only thing that alters survivability are the hero talents with their options but that’s not exclusive to demo either.
People still believe soul link has stronger values like it did prior to that but that hasn’t been the case for two expansions. But like they say, it’s very hard to change people’s beliefs.

In DF, as Aff/Destro, it was common to sac pet. So we didn’t have Soul Link.
Fast-forward to TWW, Aff/Destro plays with a pet (since the PVP buff to Demonic Resilience). Sometimes, we sac for double interrupts.
Right now, you are absolutely right. All locks have the same defensive toolkit.
Only difference would be demo having access to Axe Toss against setup comps to screw them over.

I don’t believe anything - I can tell you I can blow destro and aff up in the opener and force all types of CDs. Demo sits there absorbs millions of damage and still is at 80% up
