Theory: Sylvanas really did die in WotLK

I think because of the uniqueness of Sylvanas’ existence after Arthas turned her that Xal’atath could use her body as a vessel to exist in.

So when she committed suicide after Arthas died and she saw her “hell” , Xal’atath took that opportunity to corrupt her soul.

Throughout the expansions up to legion she grew in power. At the beginning of legion she willed a demon to deliver the mortal blow to Vol’jin.

Due to his weakened state he was susceptible to her whispers and named Sylvanas/Xal’atath Warchief.

Thoughts?

I hope she died, permanently, after ICC. It’s the only way I can justify her character.

She was shot and killed by Godfrey.

And no telling how much more that weakened her soul for Xal’atath’s corruption.

Or Sylvanas is a dreadlord. Mal’Ganis disappeared after we revealed him in Icecrown and was never seen again. The same zone Sylvanas later killed herself in. He appeared later at the Broken Shore invasion, but again was never seen or killed by us.

Coincidence? I think not! :hushed: Someone here is a dreadlord, I’m sure of it.

Do we really need to have another “corrupted by someone else” character though? Can’t we have one that is just evil on their own ?

Sylvanas has never been a good person. I don’t know where this idea that she’s changed even comes from.

The only difference in character that I can really identify is that she’s much less subtle than before. Perhaps a consequence of being in the spotlight now, but she’s much more open and idiotic than she was in say, Cata.

Sylvanas has always been evil, though.

The evil you are thinking of is her being blinded by her hatred of Arthas. With him gone so is her hatred. That driving power had to be filled with something, say the madness of Xal’atath?

That or she’s gotten corrupted/possessed by the Val’kyr after each death.

How did Sylvanas die back then? We have the intelligent and benevolent woman here with us now. What are you trying to say?! Someone is posing as her???

When she first died at Arthas’ hand then was rez’d she lost a lot of her “humanity” to be filled with rage and vengeance. She has died twice more, something has filled the “void” that’s been created in her since.
