Good morning, Wyrmrest.
About four months ago, an idea was had and shared: a year-long server campaign revolving around the ongoing and imminent threat of the scourge being loosed upon our world, our cities and our people. The campaign would be open to all who wanted to opt it, either through active participation or by adopting the details of the ever changing world into their own personal, guild or group role-plays.
The idea was ambitious, and the sort of thing that would never be possible without the collaboration of at least a few core people.
With the formation of the Year of the Scourge discord server (info in OP), we found several amazing content creators ready to jump in and make this project a reality.
And here we are, at the end of Chapter 1, a chapter that saw 16 separate events for Horde, Alliance and Neutral-alligned groups over the course of 10 straight weeks, without interruption.
The next two weeks or so will be spent planing for chapter 2. At the same time, our poor characters need a hot minute to relax and breathe.
Orgrimmar, Stormwind and the other cities of Azeroth are being liberated this week. But with the scourge escaping out into the open world, the threat is far from over…

Hi everyone, it’s Surreal Dawnheart.

The Sunreavers will be gathering tonight, at five bells in the evening (5 pm server) at the Falconwing Square Inn for a night of revelry! Feel free to bring your harp, flute, or lute, and give us your favorite bard routine.

Next event: Friday April 2nd at 5pm:
CHAPTER 2 PREMIERE!
Context:
The cities of Azeroth have become sanctuaries in a world seemingly overrun with the scourge. After three months of attacks and incursions, of citizens having to bunker down in emergency shelters and of local defense forces suffering major casualties, a group of heroes from across Azeroth banded together and helped lead the way to clearing the cities, making them safe once again.
But the scourge have not been defeated. Removed from the cities and unable to breach the walls or gates, the armies of undead have spread out across the countryside. Roads are unsafe, and communication with villages and towns as all but ceased. The danger is still very present.
From Dalaran, the Kirin Tor and the Sunreavers send out a call to all they can reach: come to Dalaran, share your intelligence and join a coordinated effort to rid the world of this dark threat.
Chapter 2
In Chapter 1, our heroes kept fighting the scourge within the major cities. Now, with the cities being safe, it is time to venture out to the villages and towns of Azeroth to help the innocent folks hiding from the scourge.
For about 12 weeks, events will focus on more individual, episodic adventures. While the goal will be roughly the same (go to location X and make sure those people are ok), a variety of different mysteries, puzzles and sometimes enemies will await our heroes, giving each event its own feel and flavor.
Chapter 2 will run from April 2nd to the middle of June.
A call for more collaborators
WE are looking for guilds or groups who operate out of different locations and who might try their hand at planning one or some of these events, having the Year of the Scourge core group joining in for the adventure. Well this looks like an absolutely fantastic series and I for one cannot wait to jump on board with the event on my alt! Besides, who wouldn’t want a Forsaken necromancer to stir up a little fun with this as he’s trying to “help” for his own purposes? smirk

WORLD UPDATE
Many came to an agreement that the Staff of Lihanna must either be examined or destroyed due to its current nature and the idea of it causing any further damage. The staff is currently in the holdings of the Sunreavers, who have been tasked to guard it constantly and with a vigil eye.
An antagonist who plagues Azeroth and its Hero’s has been thoroughly identified as Lady Damnfate, her crimes committed have put multiple cities in danger but more importantly small pocketed communities and farms have also fallen to her plight, many being cut off from communications or being able to ask for aid from the major cities in the area.
Many routes for trade and travel have been effected by this but is being remedied to through suggestions of flight paths and portals created by Magi sent out to warns these villages and cities to keep their gates closed and remain in lockdown and shelter in place until proper connection can be made once again through familiar travel routes.

It's time! With our cities secured, the heroes of the Horde and Alliance have begun to work together! We begin by securing farms in Silverpine forest, but the heroes might stumble upon a surprise!
