This is why I petered out about mid 30s. Will start up again some time later near spring maybe.

I don’t entirely disagree. It continues to feel over-crowded to me, even out in questing zones for lower levels. However, I did spend most of my vanilla-Retail years playing on low pop realms.

On the flip side, though, what happens in 2 years, well after all the phases are completed and all the GO-GO-GO sorts have finished their GOals and are leaving? If the realms started off limited to small populations the way they were in vanilla, would they even have enough people left - without solutions as unappealing as cross-realm / realm connections?

Plenty of servers with low pop. Transfer or reroll.

If you can’t take the competition you have to either learn how to farm instances or reroll on a less populated server.
