Sure and Hassan on Twitch didn’t use his uncle’s fame. It’s all connections.
Didn’t have pandas in it. Why it failed
Ya I didn’t like it at all, maybe just the orc CGI and parts of it. The half human, orc weird thing looked like cosplay almost lmao. The main actors really felt miscast. Just a jumbled mess IMHO.
Life is nothing but connections. Why does this matter to you so much? Are you so jealous of someone else getting to do what they love that you have to try to belittle their accomplishments? Are you okay?
It was about as good as I’d expected it to be.
I thought the orc half was good. The human half on the other hand felt like a backyard cosplay movie, except made by a Hollywood studio.
In my view, much of the dullness came from the cut down runtime and inability to delve into anything with any level of depth. It would’ve been better to split the first movie in two, with the first of the two dealing almost exclusively with the orcs and their situation on Draenor. Only towards the end of the film would humans and Azeroth come into the picture. The second movie could then finish setting up the humans and Azeroth and be centered around the orcs coming through the portal and the battles that follow.
That was my big problem, the human parts moved too fast. One moment they’re in Stormwind, the next they’re suddenly at Dalaran. It jumped around and it was jarring. My buddy that doesn’t know Warcraft saw it with me and had a hard time following along with what was happening at some points.
The setting could have been fine and a good place to start. The dialogue and characterization was terrible. That’s on the director and writers. If they had set the story around Arthas, his dialogue probably also would have been terrible, and people would be wondering why they cared so little for Arthas’s movie version’s corruption.
Lothar, Llane and Medivh all felt extremely thin in characterization. Giving Lothar a son in order to kill off the son feels more like a cheap stunt to create emotion rather than something that earns grief. Medivh feels like a confused mess who the audience never establishes any real connection with and has no idea how to assess. Llane actually sounds like the actor was utterly bored and would prefer to be scrolling his phone the entire time.
Aw I didn’t know that. That’s neat
Yeah, it was pretty bad. Reportedly the film had somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes of runtime cut from it late in production, and it shows. If making it shorter was necessary they should’ve also cut down on the plot points and number of locales so its pace wouldn’t feel so dizzying.
It would’ve worked better as a TV show.
I did really appreciate how accurate it was to actual wow, where humans are the most boring part of it
WC movie was actually best of all the gaming movies ever made. Already proved that here on the forums. Not a flop. Just how critics had their way with it. Like horrible fail channel Cinema Sins that calls 100% of every fantasy movie ever made a LoTR rip off when Tolken didnt even invent orcs. or did he invent the ring wraiths, nor did he invent the name Ganndalf as he falsely claims, nor did he invent the 3rd age in fantasy writings as being the main one, nor did he invent one ring controlling other rings. He didn’t invent the word Shire, or Hobbit. Both words are community used in Europe. Multiple places in Europe called shires long before Tolkien was even born. There already was a fantasy novel out that mentioned a Middle Earth. There already was Norse mythology of a one eyed god who controlled all. One ring controlling multiple rings has been done by over 3 different authors now. So dont go around calling Tolkien original.
The name Samwise was his neighbor’s name. Gamgee was the last name of another of his friends. And the majority of his dwarven lore came from Kalevevala. He ripped off From Orphues and Euridice as well.
He also claims Hobbits were once called Harfoots, claims he invented that… also false. That is old Anglo Saxon.
His prophesy about no man being able to kill the witch king was taken directly from Shakespear’s Macbeth. When he was a kid he even had a toy named Tom Bombadil. The toy box said 'I am" When Tolkien wrote Tom Bombadil in his introduction. He said “I am”
Even child author Christopher Paolini who wrote his first trilogy when he was 15 years old… is more original than Tolkien. He too is called a Tolkein rippoff just like WoW is.
So WoW movie did so terrible because so many critics kept calling it a Tolkien rip-off.
I cannot find one single character that Tolkien wrote that was original and was his own work. Frodo was named after his friend’s dog. He named another charter from the fellowship after his old mailman.
Dont go around calling anything Blizzard does an LoTR rip off. LoTR did not have near the level of fantasy that Azeroth currently has.
I honestly only saw it once and it was on home video. I can’t really remember anything about it other than Ragnar was Anduin and Draka was an irresponsible mother-to-be.
Wine and anything can go together …
Queue the wine and cheese puffs please
Funny how it left on a cliff hanger and openly hinted at a sequel. I need a sequel for it. So tired of these nonstop marvel movies. Need something new out there.
I feel like there were probably plans to do a trilogy that fell through. But honestly they missed their timing. The movie should have been released during Wrath era when WoW was at its peak. They didn’t strike while the metaphorical anvil was hot.
Well if people understood the timeline of it, perhaps would have better reviews. I personally really enjoyed it and seeing baby thrall at end floating on river, made me think that there would of been more releases.
Can you imagine how well an Illidan and then an Arthas themed movie would do, back to back.
Even though this was WC1 and not WoW1.
The CGI was fine.
Illidian and Arthas was introduced in Warcraft 3.
