Calling it: Forbidden Reach 2.0 with the same mistakes! Hurrah. Gonne be abandoned within 2 weeks. Almost like you never learn. Then the ring will be so OP that it will be required, then it will get nerfed into the ground.
Found it, thanks ā I guess I just glossed over it/didnāt pay attention/didnāt care or what I normally do - skip ahead to see if anything is of interest.
It wasnāt. Plenty of us absolutely loved PS. Only people who hated it was people with 0 self control.
Why did it have to look like Durotar and Gorgorond had a ānot so cuteā child? Feels like Ashran all over again. I hope they just picked the worst angle LOL
It looks like she did go to college for some gaming. She has associates in Game Programming, Game Design, Game Concept Art, and game Development Core.
No work experience in the field at all though, and these are all associate degrees.
For a company like Blizz, this is a very strange move, and no wonder we have all these specific main characters and storylines today. Look at the game producer, with no experience at all in the industry, and definitely not producing games.
It makes sense to hire a hair stylist for retail due to the playerbases priorities and how focused they are on mog collections and customizations.
If you think this team can actually innovate, then you havenāt been paying attention. Most of the side content is slop, the rest of the new stuff added over the years was just copy pasta from other MMOs.
I havenāt seen any innovation in this game since before Legion. The only thing keep this game going is a lot of sunk cost fallacy, and the WoW IP still being pretty popular, otherwise, retail WoW is as stagnant as they come.
I wasnāt going to buy TWW, but I got sucked into the hype yet again, but this expansion just feels like the same thing we have been playing since Legion, just with a new coat of paint.
Iāve been playing GW2 lately, and I was just flabergasted how much Blizz copied the mount system from that game for Dragon riding. They didnāt even try to make their version unique.
Edit: The Delve system was ripped from Lord of The Rings Online, so even the newest feature was just copy pasta from another MMO.
And thank goodness for that! Howeverā¦ Siren Isleā¦ in a stormy part of the sea, used by the Arathiā¦ You know what this means right? We are making our way to Arathor, AND instead of a new race, we get the customizations which is idea. Cept I have no Humans or Kul Tirans.
Hmm that was quick.
Opening the new zone where you cant fly until X happens? usually that happens near the end of an expansionā¦ wait are we at the end already?
New currency? weak cheer - yaaaaay?..
More plunderstorm? weaker cheer - yay.
Oh great, a forced low res ring to ruin outfits that will potentially invalidate a gear slot for customisation and forcing players to interact with it week to week to increase itās power?
That sounds awful, try getting someone whoās main focus isnāt on mindless boring retention content and making something fun.
I hope Iām wrong on my initial thoughts but knowing the previous times the same thing was added in a mid tier patch, oh boy.
Ugh, her resume is pretty anemic. No offense to these people, but you can feel the lack of game design experience all over retail WoW these days.
I think we need to come to terms, that the talent that made Blizzard great is long gone, and that is never coming back. Playing through D4 this weekend showed me this problem extends across the entire company.
This is caused by transferring currency between factions within characters in your guild. Every single person in guild will get a 3-4 second freeze, the bigger the guild the more severe it is.
So a single bad actor, say someone who got benched for the night, can ruin a guildās every attempt.
I honestly dont care what the cause is.
I want to play the game with a modicum of function.
Meanwhile we are still being teleported to the Swamp of Sorrows beachside from the Stormwind portal in Tanarisā¦
New stories YES
HALF ELF EARS
Game producer is a huge position. They oversee everything.
When people were blaming management for the state of the game, guess who they were blaming.
She has zero experience in the industry.
Forbidden Reach all over again. I lost interest in the ring for that one very quickly and never did upgrade it.
Greed drove out all the good game developers from Blizzard. This worked like 15 years ago, because the industry was a lot smaller, so Blizzard could have a steady influx of talent always applying to work at the company. Things have changed, good game developers are hard to find these days, and the wages Blizzard pays isnāt going to attract the talent they need to make the content that people actually want.
Iād wager there is a skeleton crew of vets basically holding this game together. This expansion has been the buggiest expansion I have ever played since TBC, you can tell they have lost a lot of institutional knowledge.
Forbidden reach 2.0 and plunderstorm!? on the same patch cycle? HELL NO, unsubbing till 11.1 and s2
Ty for the developer preview. Itās pretty cool to see the iterative process from the level designers, system devs, and content devs, etc as they built this. Sounds cool to be able to unlock certain things Iām getting a bit of a Mechagon vibe from this for some reason which is cool. Another ring is cool too if it helps everyone push a little bit further later on.
Also just look foward to more questing and story bits as thatās fun for me.
